Dear Forum Members,

I am preparing an update to be sent to my Visa Office in next couple of weeks. This is to update my mailing address, newly obtained birth certificates (mine & spouse), updated travel information form. I am planning to send these updates on my own to update my address and strengthen my application, without any request from the Visa Office.

Good idea! I like your proactive approach. This might save you a few months of case processing time.

Here is another option.. this is thinking a bit far but one should know all avenues. Take a Good read and see if this will help.

Temporary resident permits
Note: This information is for guidance and reference only. A decision on your admissibility can only be made when you apply to come to Canada or at a port of entry.

If you are otherwise inadmissible but have a reason to travel to Canada that is justified in the circumstances, you may be issued a temporary resident permit.

To be eligible for a temporary resident permit, your need to enter or stay in Canada must outweigh the health or safety risks to Canadian society, as determined by an immigration or a border services officer. Even if the reason you are inadmissible seems minor, you must demonstrate that your visit is justified.

There is no guarantee that you will be issued a temporary resident permit. If you would like to receive a permit, you will have to pay a processing fee, which is not refundable.

A permit is usually issued for the length of your visit to Canada—for example, one week to attend a conference. You must leave Canada by the expiry date of the permit, or get a new permit before your current one expires.

Please note that this permit may be cancelled by an officer at any time. The permit is no longer valid once you leave Canada, unless you have specifically been authorized to leave and re-enter.
How to apply
If you are a citizen of a visa-exempt country, the visa office responsible for your country or region may have its own application form for temporary resident permits. You should check the visa office to find out about its specific application procedures.

Otherwise, you should submit an application for a temporary resident visa along with supporting documents to explain why you are inadmissible and why it may be justified for you to enter Canada.

Note: You may have to attend an interview so that an officer can assess your application.

Fees
You must pay a fee (C$200) to cover the cost of processing your application for a temporary resident permit. The fee will not be refunded if the permit is refused. Check the visa office website for specific payment instructions

Guys,
I haven't received an email from my consultant but I happened to know my UCI number. When I checked my ecas just now, I saw the the permanent residence application is in process. And when I checked the details, it says that "We received your application for permanent residence on August 26, 2013." IS THIS PER????

U'll get your total points for all work exp. Not only for NOC.

Thank you , but I have question do you think my chances can increase if i was not the main applicant and i let my wife apply as main will this change anything as while i was reading i fount that someone mentioned the below :

Buddies I send my passport to BJ VO last Friday and find I make a mistake.... My kid's passport will be expired next November. That means even if the visa is issued before this year end, the visa will be expired next nov.
I planned to land to canada during next summer holiday, July or August. However I remember there is saying that if the visa will be expired ( less than 6 months valid) the custom will not allow me to enter even if I hold a valid visa.
Now I only have 2 choice, assuming I got visa this year end.
1, land before next May
2, reapply a new passport for the kid and bring both when landing
I do not prefer first option coz the kid and I do not have time before may.
For option 2, it is ok for Chinese custom to release me, but how about Canadian custom and immigration office? Will there be any problem?
I send this question to VO after PER, but no response at all. After I got PL email I am so happy that I totally forget this issue. Now it is a dilemma to me....

As I see it, you can request for replacement visa, as soon as you get new passports.
I strongly advise you to renew all expiring passports before landing in Canada.

Otherwise you won't be able to travel internationally after your passport expired and to do that you have to request passport replacement through Chinese embassy in Canada, which will take much longer time and will be more expensive.

My papers were received by ACG of CIO... does anyone have the same receiver? As I was encoding my info to our spreadsheet.. i noticed that the person who received my documents was not common.
