Is CIC will contact me that they recieved my application? are they going to gave me a file number to check my application status? please im really worry.
please all your help will be helpfull
thanks to all.

@Danbravo - welcome!

Once your application reaches CIC, it will be in que to be processed in due course of time. CIC does not confirm the applicant about the receipt of the application right away. You only come to that CIC has received your application based on the status provided by your courier service. In short the overall process is as follows;

1. CIC check for completeness of the application. If all the documents are there, they charge you the fees. Historically this is happening in 60-70 from the day your application reached CIC.

2. As a next step, CIC then checks your application against ministerial instructions. Here, they basically calculate your score and check the job description/ experience letters are tantamount to the NOC you have applied under. If everything is in order they send you email confirming the positive eligibility. This is the first time you hear from CIC. Typically people have received such email 7-10 after the CC/ DD being charged.

3. Then the application is forwarded to local visa office for further scrutiny. The local visa office contacts you for further documents as required, Medical request, passports etc.

I suggest you take a look at the following links. They are very helpful and put together by our admins. Here is what you can do to get yourself more familiarized with the process and also be a part of this forum. Thanks.

1. FAQs and other helpful information is available here: FSWP 2013 Manual: http://tinyurl.com/mvmn8as / FSWP FAQs: http://fswp2013.wordpress.com

2. Get information on the timeline of all the applicants this year: FSWP 2011 Spreadsheet: http://tinyurl.com/l9lbwms

3. Add yourself to the FSW applicant database by providing your application information. This will be helpful for other applicants like you as well. - http://tinyurl.com/fswp2013-add-entry

Thank you for the reply and the link.. So, I think 730 days of 5 years.. But I guess, 730 days need not be one a single visit, right? I mean, I can always "land" in Canada before my PR visa expires and then after about a week or so (as mentioned in the previous post) return to my PhD. And after about 2.5/3 years return back to make sure that I stayed the rest of the time (about 2 years) in Canada?? Could you tell me if you see anything wrong with this? The reason is that the PhD I am doing is something that I really want to. I don't want to give up either (PhD or Canadian PR) of them!

Thanks!

Firstly, the PR visa will have an expiry date, which is usually a year from the issued date, but is not always the case - it can be a shorter period.
By that date you'll have to land in Canada to become a permanent resident. If you fail to do so - the PR visa will expire and you'll have to start the whole process from scratch, to the best of my knowledge (there can be some exceptions, but, as islandbabe have pointed out, your PhD will hardly suffice).

Secondly, once you become a permanent resident, you'll need to maintain this status, which may be quite challenging while pursuing a PhD in Europe. Probably your best option would be to take an academic leave.

So, this is all about the timing.

I just put some info together from our beloved spreadsheet to kill some time (not that I don't have things to do, but I just can't keep my mind of this ;D):

PER Issued Count of PER Rcvd.
8/1/2013 16
7/29/2013 14
8/27/2013 12
7/10/2013 12
8/26/2013 11
8/9/2013 11
9/3/2013 11
8/29/2013 11
7/11/2013 10
7/24/2013 10

Hey all,

Sorry if this has been asked before, but is there any easy way to sort by column in the spreadsheet?

Thanks!

I am curious what date format are we following on this forum? Especially for profile summaries on the left side. :)

I noticed most of you have date in dd-mm-yy and others are using mm-dd-yy.

Can we all agree to dd-Month-yy, example 05-May-2013 or 03-Sep-13 ...something less ambiguous :D

you will have to wait around 70 days or may be 80 days, CIC will open your application package. normally when application package arrives to CIC they time stamp it and put it in a queue, when it's your application's turn CIC will check the completeness check of your package, if it's complete and your roles and responsibilities matches with the NOC, your CC/DD will be charged and after a week or may be sooner you will get a PER which is the confirmation email that you are eligible and your application is approved for further processing. your application will then be transferred to your local VO. good luck

Dear Luqi,
In canada immigration web page they have a part in which they have a count how many applications they recieved until that week. When the application arrive they count and put in the web page? or I have to wait the 70 days to process my application and then they put it the the list. Im worry that i didnt send so early and maybe is out of time.
what do you think
thanks

that is called a cap count. you will counted within the cap only when you pass the completeness check and get your PER.

To people who managed to get UCI number from CIC over phone/e-mail before receiving PER what was the ECAS status before and after receiving PER.Was it same? Please share.Thanks.
