HI Subodh

I think the CAP will not grow that much as you can see we got very few PERs in the last week. So it will reach something about 230. That is what I am predicting.

Hi,
Yes it is true, getting PCC from Passport office is easier, however, it is not sure that you will get PCC on the same day.
As per me:

- PCC will be issued on the same day if your address in the passport and the address you are living is same.( in most of the cases. )

- PCC will be issued on the same day if your passport was issued within 2 to 2.5 years ago. If your passport is more older, then a police verification will be done and it will take around 15 to 25 days.

- Or if any Police Verification is done through Passport office in last 2 to 2.5 years for any reason then also PCC will be issued on the same day.

- If you have taken PCC for any country in last 2.5 years then also they will issue PCC on same day.

I have the same case, My passport was re-issued within last 2 years from when I applied PCC so they issued me the PCC on the same day but My wife passport was issued 3.5 years ago hence they order for police verification and it took 22 day.

Please note: My wife residential address at the time of passport issued was the same as mention in my PCC. So in spite of having the same address for PCC and on passport they order it for police verification. Just to be more specific, my wife passport was issued after our marriage and all the updates like name update, spouse name were already added when the passport was issued.

Hope this is helpful. :) :) :) :)

hey stark

as forum mate advise it takes 2 to 3 weeks for PCC from indian passport office. if you go through the check list for PCC , they dont need letter from cic to issue the pcc, however there is one comments which states it is right to demand the letter from officer. as some one suggest to get the guideline and checklist copy is enough for them. i went through the same case.

Now, as I dont know about your travel date to USA, so wanted to add bit more here.
It takes 10 mins to fill you application online passportseva portal, dont worry if you are confuse anywhere on website, at passport office you will find computer and photo copy facility to correct anything if required.

now, it takes 1 days to put your appliction at passport center.
On next day , this application will go to district commissioner office from there it will reach to police station which is in your residential area. so Ideally they will call you at police station after 3-4 working days!
so there you can save time! once you place the file at passport seva, go to your police station and request them to call you for verification , tell them you want to make it fast due to some reasons.

ideally this process should get complete in 1 week but it travels lot. if you have some one in police department then request them to transfer you application to local police station and get verification done asap, later they will again send your application to police commissioner office for final approval. once this is done then you will get email / sms from passportseva to collect pcc.

Strict rule is you and your family member has to go there in person for application and for collection. they wont handover to anyone.

i did in this way and I got withing one week because I thought I may have to travel for short term but anway plan got calcelled and got PCC soon!!!

Finally, if you are unable to get pcc in time from india, its even easy from Indian embassy in USA. please let me know if you want more details in future!
regards / all the best.

since u mentioned an account of spouse there r two point of views worth reading

i quoted both for you

First P.o.V:-----------

You, being a primary applicant, have to show the total POF depending upon the number of immigrants under your application and establish that all that money lay at your quick disposal. I don't think solo accounts will work here because then you show financial dependency on your wife, whereas you are main applicant and wife, your dependent!Being a primary applicant yourself, you will need a letter of No Objection from your wife if she be contributing in your POF.
You can have joint account with wife and an NOC from her for your Canadian immigration requirements.

From the books of Law, you need to show the other person's consent when you hire services! Although, CIC doesn't mention use of NOCs officially on their site but it said in a more generic statement that the funds must be liquid, unencumbered and at your disposal.
Your wife's fund land at your disposal upon her consent; it may not be taken for granted. But then all at CIC's discretion. If you ask any consultant, they would advise you the same way.Best way is to have joint bank account with your spouse + NOC that she allows you using her money.

Second P.o.V:--------------

If your spouse is part of ur application and will go with you, then no need for any NOC etc for POF.

You can submit all statements as POF for Your account, ur wife account, any joint account etc...both are opposite to each other...so am not sure what's right and what's not but worth reading just in case

Got it. Thank you so much for your reply. So, it seems I may be in trouble!!!

no, If your spouse is part of ur application and will go with you than your or your wife's or joint account total will be considered
