I mailed CIC last month abt the application status to which i got the following reply :

Dear Sir/Madam,

UCI# 9XXXXXXXX

Please be advised that your application was returned with all attachments on 04 Sept 2013 as the cap of NOC 2174 has been reached. A letter of explanation was provided along with the application package.

Please note: all returned applications are sent via regular mail to the mailing address as entered on the application package. There is no tracking number. Once the application is mailed, its delivery is the responsibility of the postal service.

So my application is on its way bak..... On an avg hw many days it takes to receieve it by normal post to India???

Hopefully, I would be resending my application under NOC (Chemical Engineer) as i also had a year of work exp. from 2010-2011 in Chemical Engineering ;D

in my case i got my package back in 44 days...may this help you

Sorry to hear about your application Return.
It will normally take min 20 days and max 30 days if it was sent my Canada Post Regular mail.
Good luck and all the best for the resending my application under NOC (Chemical Engineer) .
Before you do that i suggest you take advice from seniors from the forum.

@ especially those who have received medical request, can you share the status of your ecas status ?

Append below is the ECAS staus of my case

1. We received your application for permanent residence on May 8, 2013.

2. We started processing your application on September 6, 2013.

The first message I happen to see after receiving PER. (I had not logged in to see ECAS anytime before)
The second message appeared a couple of days after receiving MR.

Someone had raised a query if my employment was verified by my VO which is CPPO.
I do not know how they work and process the applications. I do not want to post any views through my guess to this forum.
I shall definitely share my info as and when available from CIC.

I had Canada work visa previously and by reading on forum, i understand that you get UCI Number if you have previous visa, but how i would get that UCI Number, i have checked my Visa also on passport but i could not found any number? Please help so that i can atleast check my status?

Did you also get a work permit? You can try that.

Yes, i just found that number on work permit. i tried entering that number on CIC website multiple times, but its saying that information you provided is not correct. Not sure why i cant, may be they have not yet opened my file.

Dear Members,

I request all of our members not to request the status of the application every now and then from Visa office as it takes the resources for replying to the queries and delays overall processing.

Please be matured and remain rest assured that CHC/CIO are working at their optimum level in order to complete the process at the earliest and CIC has developed the wonderful tool of online status ecas system which can be used for the status of the application.

I do understand the anxiety and eagerness for knowing the status. Please follow the guidelines of CIC, and after that if you have not heard anything from them, then only contact the Visa office. After all Visa office staff is also a human being and we should also think about their heavy workload.

Hi ram040479 - I am also a 2174 applicant. Application was received on 3rd June. I have had no reply from CIC / no email / no UCI No. I sent an email on 27th August and still I have had no reply. It has been 13 working days since the email was sent and I have had no response. You are the first person on this forum who has applied after me and you haven't had a rejection. Therefore, I presume this is good news and I may still be in with a chance as well. Fingers are crossed! When did you send CIC email for status update? Does it state what initial processing means? Is this within the CAP then?

i am not agree with the statement of as how he mentioned full uci and they can not say to 2174 in these manner

that's the one but it might not be updated yet specially if the processing of your file didn't start yet!! Be patient, normally within now and next 10 days you should get something!!
