Update on strike....

The Greens Call On Harper’s Conservatives to End the Foreign Service Officers’ Strike
21 August 2013 - 12:16pm
OTTAWA – The Green Party of Canada supports the striking Foreign Service (FS) officers in their negotiations with Treasury Board President Tony Clement.

“For the government, the cost of fully addressing the wage gaps faced by FS officers would be $4.2 million over three years. That is an insignificant fraction of the cost job action has had on the Canadian economy,” said Green Leader Elizabeth May, Member of Parliament for Saanich-Gulf Islands.

“The costs of pushing FS officers to strike are outrageous: visa delays for tourists will account for a $280 million loss this summer whereas the expected 20% drop in international students allowed in Canada means the country’s economy will lose up to $1.5 billion,” said Elizabeth May.

“The fact that undertrained contract personnel is deployed abroad to replace FS officers to take care of visa applications is extremely worrying. These temporary workers have no knowledge of local criminal networks,” said Don Galloway, Green Party Critic for Immigration and Citizenship.

“Will war criminals be allowed in Canada by contract personnel trying to speed through visa applications?” asked Mr. Galloway.

The Greens call on Harper’s Conservatives to negotiate in good faith with the Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers and end the strike.

Congratulations mate
but Damn...my file reached at 24th may for 2132 NOC and still no reply.. :o :o
can u tell through which bank u had ur DD drawn?

Buddy I'm sharing one important observation to put ur mind at ease and for all DD applicants who are still waiting for DD encashment/PER.

I have received my PER mail on 19th of August but before this memorable day I traced my DD several times because 27-28th may applicants got start charging from 1st August so first time I traced my DD on 8th August then 12,14,16 and last time on 19th of August but there was no update on encashment. My DD was from HDFC bank and my tracing was through known bank manager and directly from Forex department of HDFC but there is no update. This means payment through DD takes 5-7 days to get update in bank itself. This same fact was also shared by someone else few days back on this forum. My DD was encashed on 12th of August as per CIO mail.

So just wait for ur PER mail only dont panic if there is no update on DD encashment.

One more thing, who are getting delay in receiving their PER mails might have contains lot of attachment in their application package means French language proof, relative in Canada, complex experience proof something like that which is not common to other applicants because all this uncommon things takes times to get assess by CIO. this is just my thoughts, experts please correct or provide their observation on this.

I have observed this because my PER slightly get delayed may be because I have relative in canada which might cause slight delay in assessing.

2174 CAP Reached.. Shocked

SFCanada, 30 May applicant got PER on 20 August and his DD was charged on 14th August. The CAP was 278 on 19th August.. It means there are some other applicants also who are due to receive the PER if CAP is number of ppl charged.
I am a 31 May applicant, hoping to hear from CIC. Otherwise it will be very heart breaking to miss the CAP by 1 day.

Any opinion seniors??

Unconfirmed sources say Quota for 2174 and 2112 is over with no chance for anyone who applied in June. ??? ???

Dude its confirmed that CAP of both the NOC's has reached.
Please check the website.

In case of NOC : 2174 :

(77/300)*100 = 25.66 .

The forum represents 25.66 % of the global CAP.

In case of NOC : 1112 :

(44 /300)*100 = 14.66 .

The forum represents 14.66 % of the global CAP.

In case of NOC : 2147:

(41 /104)*100 = 39.42 .

The forum represents 39.42 % of the global CAP.

Hello!
This forum has been an immense help for me in pointing out mistakes I made in my application (unfortunately, I joined this forum after sending my app to CIO). Now as I am from 2144 which is very slow, I am considering to file altogether a new application before CIO made a decision on my current app (expected around start OCT).
My question is whether it is advisable or should I send an explanations note with updated documents instead?

These numbers are dynamic and may change every hour/each day or each year depending upon how many applicants participate in the discussion on this forum. There is no direct benefit

Its seems that CIC is back on full swing, yesterday 12th June CC got charged... woooohhhss....

I think majority load of apps has been drastically reduced after CAP reached of 2 HOT NOC....
