My take remains that we should be more responsive to answering fellow members question irrespective of their NOC codes as most are common to all NOCs and use the FAQ only when necessary for additional clarification. Some members like my humble self are not so smart as you seem to infer and would continue to asked dumb questions and seek clarification now and then.We would also continue to visit the site and read the seemly repetitive questions by newbies as these add to the beauty of the forum. It also help us remember how rusty most of us were when we initially joined the forumAny time a man wakes up is his morning

Hello AberdeenGuy,
Absolutely nothing wrong with asking so-called "dumb" questions, I am sure I myself have asked a few of those "dumb" questions.....but the issue is not "dumb" questions, the issue is duplicate questions. Nothing even wrong with
occasional duplicate questions.....but
pages of duplicates would be an issue (to me) though.
I don't mind answering "dumb" (or even duplicate) questions from persons who seemingly
genuinely don't know the answer or don't know the question was already answered or don't know how to search for the answer......but sometimes it just seems like (some) persons don't even try find the answer themselves.....because they seemingly
expect that someone is here on the forum to
attend to their questions.
I am sorry, but I really fail to see the "beauty" of "seemly repetitive questions" by newbies or anyone for that matter. And it's not just about "beauty" either, repetitive questions actually don't add new/meaningful knowledge to the forum. For me, new/meaningful knowledge being added to the forum would be part of the "beauty" and purpose of the forum.
Apart from not adding "beauty",
pages of duplicate questions/posts actually waste a LOT of time and resources each time someone who is following a thread gets a notification of a "new" post and clicks on it and then gets directed to the forum page only to see a duplicate question/post....it really wastes time and effort.
Maybe if along with the email notification of the "new" post, I could also get the actual contents of the "new" post in my inbox, I would be able to at least decide whether or not I need to waste time going to the forum/thread webpage to answer/reply to a question/post.
Also, it is possible that you do not see responses to questions regarding a specific NOC, simply because most persons here don't know much about that NOC. As you can see, (it seems) most people here specialize in the "popular NOCs", namely NOC 2174, 2147 and 1112. Or, maybe one of the reason it seems like it's only NOC 2174, 2147 and 1112 applying is because the
repetitive/duplicate questions are always about those NOCs....and as a result, we don't get to see (or we simply disregard/overlook) questions about the other NOCs.
It could also be that some questions/posts are being posted in the wrong forum and/or thread, for example, if an admin/senior/someone is focused on "
FSW 2013 Applicants Timeline" in a particular thread and they go to that thread and see
non "
FSW 2013 Applicants Timeline" questions/post, then that admin/senior/someone might not be motivated to answer/respond to that
non "
FSW 2013 Applicants Timeline" questions/post.
Another reason could be that people are just interested in what they are interested in and as such they don't consider responding/contributing to questions/posts that are unrelated to whatever they are specifically interested in.
I guess at the end of the day though, we all have a different take regarding this.
Thanks also.

Hi donutbox
Thank you for your comment.
I actually wrote that post to elicit these responses and thus help keep focus and not deviate from the main objective of ISLANDBABE and other founding members that started this forum and religiously followed by others that enlisted later; to help one another. These voluntary assistances ranging from spreadsheet administration to helping folks with objective answers and guidance as they go through the web of CIC application process have helped save members thousands of Dollars that would otherwise probably be gone to immigration consultants. These selfless services of our amiable and outstanding Admins/Seniors and members alike were what endeared and are still attracting most aspiring immigrants to this forum. They can never be quantified in terms of money.
So, no one is implying that admins or forum members are not doing excellent job but on the contrary there is no iota of doubt that our fellow forumites have been terrific. I also mentioned that I support the FAQ but we also need the time tested personalised answers that have helped numerous people including yourself and me.
My take remains that we should be more responsive to answering fellow members question irrespective of their NOC codes as most are common to all NOCs and use the FAQ only when necessary for additional clarification. Thank you once again.
