Not Sure! I enquired with two banks (SBI and ICICI) and both said the validity is for 3 months only. I spcifically asked for validity if in International Currency, and there was no change in reply. This was the reason I unwillingly went for Credit Card route.

either the guy is a duffer.. RBI guidelines changed on the first Qtr..( which says DD and Cheque is valid for 3 months ) little does the normal RM knows what a International DD validity is ... i spoke to many and all said 3 months.. u need to check with the forex or someone who hadles back end operations to know the rules of the game.. i have confirmed with Standard Chartered and Citi bank ( rules apply to all banks under RBI guidelines )

Friends nobody answered my query earlier on 1032 so pasting again

Guys,
it's not the first time CIC open "early". They always start 8 AM and work sometimes till 8 PM (there were evidences around the forum already). They even work on Saturday (I, myself, got charged unexcpetedly (but luckily) on Saturday).
So we owe our deep respect to them and to what the "reform" has done this year! Also they seem to keep the promise of faster processing... See, some people got their AOR already and it is under 3 months since the program started.
Honour to CIC!

they are sending return docs in regular mail and avarage time to receive that in india is very to one month to 2 month depends on locality/area....
