Hi Seniors and all People,

In the Additional Family Information form IMM5406E for my spouse I wrote my names where we have 'Applicant' and my wife's names where we have 'Spouse or common-law partner' but the rest of the details including signature is that of my spouse. Can this be a problem leading to rejection?

Anticipating your best answers and advice.

Thanks!

Hi friends. Since I haven't heard from CIC, I am beginning to think I should mail in a fresh application as early as next week. The only challenge right now are my IELTS scores. I sent the originals and have only photocopies left. Any advise on how to deal with this? Appreciated!

Floxy, if you are re-applying then it is not necessary that you will get another copy (TRF); so check it first from BC.
If this doesn't work, you can attach a cover letter explaining that why you are sending copies with application.

RULE : IF CIC ASKED FOR "X" & YOU ARE SENDING "Y", THEN EXPLAIN WHY YOU ARE SENDING "Y" INSTEAD OF "X" WITH GOOD JUSTIFICATION.

But , If six weeks are already passed and you emailed cic then you will get reply from them (they take 20 working days to reply); so i would suggest to first wait for their reply, if not then do accordingly. (These r my suggestions & I am not the authority )

Those who got PER, did anyone of you apply via Law firm of Campbell Cohen? Please share. I applied through them, my application reached on May 13th but I haven't heard anything till date. Isn't it worrying ?
Did you or lawyer emailed CIC after 6 weeks asking Status of your application? ? ?If yes they will reply you. It seems that their is delay due to some issue somewhere. You or your lawyer need to reach CIC to figure that out. Best way is email, then phone, and then fax if possible. So ask your lawyer to find , what is delaying the process by contacting CIC as soon as you can.

We have two members in the spreadsheet (sandy1985 and amit80203, both indians)
They both submitted 10th standard marksheet in lieu of birth certificate which was accepted by cic and they already had their cc charged
I have a similar but not exactly the same case. Kindly help:
My spouse was born in India and she does not have a birth certificate. She only has a record of catholic baptism which indicated her date of birth and parents' names. This is what she has always used in place of birth certificate. Also, she left India as a young child, she did not complete any education there and she does not have a 'marksheet' as stated earlier in this forum.

I have sent our application using this baptismal document.
1. Can our application be returned because of this?
My wife recently told me that during one of her travels, the embassy in our home country, requested for a confirmation of birth. She showed me a handwritten document from the hospital, stating parents' names and her date of birth without indicating her name. The document also has both Tamil and English inscriptions below it.
2. Should I send this document to CIC?
3. If yes to Q2 above, do I need to translate the Tamil aspect, though it looked as if the translation has been done in English (beside the Tamil words). My wife can only speak Tamil, she cannot read it.
4. If I am to send this document, can CIC link it to my file? I do not have a UCI. I am the principal applicant, but my wife had UCI from a previous unsuccessful FSW application.
5. What is the best means of sending the document - email, fax, courier or combinations?

I will appreciate as many inputs as possible from people on this forum.

Thank you.

Did anyone fill in the same way as above and still got PER?

Now you can only email cic for case information after 8 weeks has passed since filing your application.

How to Contact the Centralized Intake Office
If you are a federal skilled worker, federal investor, Quebec-selected skilled worker, Canadian Experience Class or provincial nominee applicant and you have a request for case information, you may contact the Client Service Unit of the Centralized Intake Office.

You will not receive a reply to your email if:

you have not already applied under one of the above categories
you are not authorized to receive personal information
you applied within the last 8 – 10 weeks
your enquiry concerns any other topic.
Please do not send the same enquiry more than once. You can reach the CSU at CIO‑Sydney‑Search‑Enquiry @ cic.gc.ca.

I just copied this from the CIC website under FSWP. It's quite different from your quote above. I think it is still 6 weeks...

Federal skilled workers who applied to the CIO and have a request for case information may contact the Client Service Unit (CSU). Note that if your application has already been sent to the visa office for processing, the CIO will not be able to help you.

You will not receive a reply to your email if:

you have not already applied as a federal skilled worker;
you are not authorized by the applicant to receive personal information;
you applied within the last six weeks; or
your enquiry concerns a topic other than your case.

Please do not send the same enquiry more than once. You can reach the CSU at CIO‑Sydney‑Search‑Enquiry@cic.gc.ca.

Then we have two different information from the same CIC website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/next_steps.asp
I do not think there is harm in sending email just after six weeks though.

THOSE WHO HAVE RECEIVED "PER"
---------------------------------
After login, when you click "Application for Permanent Residence - Federal skilled Worker submitted to Sydney, Nova Scotia" option it shows the Process (as below)

1) App Recevd--> 2) CIO-S Elig Review Compt --> 3) Revd by VO --> 4) VO Elig Review complete --> 5) Withdrawn--> 6) In Process --> 7) Desicion Made --> 8 ) Complete

I believe who have received PER are on stage 3 now. What can be the possible timelines for these stages, my guesses are below:

Stage 3 & stage 4 = 2 to 3 months
Stage 5 & Stage 6 = 2 months
Stage 7 & Stage 8 = 2 months

I hope new system will move fast, but any guesses from senior members & experts.......

Hi Guys, are there many cases when applicants received PER and then rejected by their respective visa offices? Do you know what the main reasons are?

Rawdah is right ! The have updated the info on "Date Modified:2013-07-19" Check bottom right corner on both the pages.

So this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/canada/sydney.asp has the latest info.

As compared to this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/next_steps.asp which has not been updated since "Date Modified:2012-10-04"

So, Moral of the Story: ::)

You will not receive a reply to your email if:

you applied within the last 8 – 10 weeks
your enquiry concerns any other topic.

Cheers!

Rawdah,

In the Additional Family Information form IMM5406E for my spouse I wrote my names where we have 'Applicant' and my wife's names where we have 'Spouse or common-law partner' but the rest of the details including signature is that of my spouse. Can this be a problem leading to rejection? Did anyone get PER filling the form as this way?

Thanks!
