Hello bros, important info here
I just called the phone above to understand my status, the svc staff give me some important clue.
1, the rule is changed now, CIC will only announce the CAP one time, that is the time 5000CAP is reached. So if we see CIC update, it means game over.
So, keep waiting guys..... :'(
this is very unfair especially to those people from hot NOC's. The overall cap will not be reached soon - in our spreadsheet there are more than a few NOC's that have no applications at all. It is highly unlikely that we will hear something till Christmas... I assume, though, that people who submitted their applications too late (meaning that their cap has already been reached) will get their docs back immediately and this way they will know whether to wait or not.

Thanks for the info Huangxygjy,

Forgive me if I am doubtful of it for a while. How can they say no updates until it gets to 5000? They have clearly posted on the site that they will update, if this is the case then it really cant be called an update then. So people will still be applying for Nocs 2174 and 1112 and 2147 in January of next year???? Doesn't seem feasible. We have to at least be told when the individual Noc Categories reach their caps. ???

"Note: Due to the large number of applications we get, we cannot check that each one is complete on the same day it gets to the office. The numbers on this page are updated at least once a week, but are only a guide. There is no guarantee that an application sent in now will fall within the cap by the time it gets to the Centralized Intake Office."

2, the phone number above do not provide any information on your application status now, early bird can only send to email adderess above, it normally takes 15-20days before u heard any feedback.
3, CIO is not on strike, only visa office is on strike. CIO is working as normal.
4, the call center do not know why there are no cc charged yet.

So, keep waiting guys..... :'(

You are right. Actually by not announcing the CAP update soon (total and individual NOC), CIO will only increase their burden as applicants will keep sending files and CIO will have to sign and return. quite a logistic chaos.

Then again, Is CIO that stupid not to feel this?

Well, I also cannot believe it so I asked " does this mean CIC will only update their CAP after they received 5000 applications"?, the lady on the phone says "yes".
Suggest early bird calls as well so as to know weather I misunderstood.
But anyway I also believe Weather they announce or not is useless for hot NOC now cause they definitely already reached the CAP after 6 weeks.

It will be better if few more Apllicants call CIC, it is possible that Huangxyqiy overheard something and his info is not 100% accurate.

I guess...they just want to show to Minister Kenney"hey our workload is huge and the inventory is too much, we cannot afford it, increase salary pls!" :P
If I were the manager, I will update the application "received" daily rather than "accepted". CIO is performing unreasonable comparing with year 2011.
Maybe that is just their strategy for more money.

I agree that the cap update is quite USELESS for me at this point and for many others. However the purpose of this forum is to aid applicants .......Can you imagine an applicant seeing no cap update and so he/she engages him/herself in the torture of getting transcripts, and ECA Evaluation, PCC and preparing and sending off a package for a NOC category filled more than 6 months before????? That is almost cruel. Indeed I am doubtful of this info, it is impractical and inhumane almost. Huang I may well have to take your advise and make that call to them myself. Thanks for the effort on your part.

Hi Huangxyqjy,

Can you let me know the phone number that you called? I tried to call the number listed on CIC website but the answering machine always said the toll free number is not available for my area. Thanks.

This is a prime example of someone not reading the previous posts. I had listed the phone numbers/email contact just yesterday night...

Hello guys,

Please update my status:
ECA certification: Bsc 3 years (same as original degree)
Application sent: Today, by UPS

And let the force be with my parcel, so it arrives this week. :)

BTW, I cant think of any reason why would CIC decide to not give any intake update until 5000 gone. That won't happen before new year. They don't get any money from people sending their apps while CAP is already met, so that will just cause harm to them and confusion to us.

Unless they want to have more space for 'tweaking' and accepting more of some NOCs, unofficially and over the CAP.
But I can't imagine them doing that when they announce all the data publicly? Especially since now Kenney announced that they are going even more public with that new data portal.

Hmm why am I writing 'cap' in upper case all the time!? :D

Thinking another way...CIO might still be waiting until incoming applications reach a specific number (that we don't know exactly how many) they are satisfied. Perhaps a couple weeks/months from now and then do the assessment at once? Anyway it is just my personal thought and just like many people said..hope for the best, prepare for the worse.

Seems like..This is game..

People will be more keen to apply if CIC dont update the count..and keep hoping to get file number..

Lets say if CIC update the count from first week of may then BUSINESS OF CONSULTANT AND WES WONT WORK PROPERLY!

CONSULTANT CAN SHOW CARROT TO APPLICANT SAYING YOU STILL HAVE CHANCE AS CAP DETAILS ARE NOT UPDATED..PAY NOW ..FILE NOW!!

I AM NOT SURE WHETHER CIC IS MORE KEEN WITH REGARD TO EARNING THE MONEY FOR CONSULTANT BUT IT IS 100% THAT
CIC WANTS WES TO EARN MONEY ..BECAUSE STILL THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE APPLYING FOR WES..THIS IS THE WAY CIC WANTS FOREIGN CURRENCY IN CANADA!
