This is the whole purpose of not updating the cap.
1. Futile efforts by applicants to go for ECA : which in turns is drumming up sales and generating revenue for Canadian Government.
2. FED Ex /UPS/ DHL are raking in the money from all over the world and also benefiting the Canadian Government.
3. Rejecting Applicants after initial review on various issues summed up before though their CC being charged and non refundable.( Apart from Not falling within 300 CAP)
4.fStudy for further future programmes and initiatives.
5. Various other hidden agendas
6. Most Importantly is ""MONEY""

Forgive me if I am doubtful of it for a while. How can they say no updates until it gets to 5000? They have clearly posted on the site that they will update, if this is the case then it really cant be called an update then. So people will still be applying for Nocs 2174 and 1112 and 2147 in January of next year???? Doesn't seem feasible. We have to at least be told when the individual Noc Categories reach their caps. ???

"Note: Due to the large number of applications we get, we cannot check that each one is complete on the same day it gets to the office. The numbers on this page are updated at least once a week, but are only a guide. There is no guarantee that an application sent in now will fall within the cap by the time it gets to the Centralized Intake Office."

3-4 MONTHS ONLY. and at those time CAP used to be updated every Tuesday.

For being on safe side from such issues, I delayed my application for my spouse IELTS to complete and attached everything from my sister also, so that at least they can't reject me on the basis of less points ;D

Hello guys,

Please update my status:
ECA certification: Bsc 3 years (same as original degree)
Application sent: Today, by UPS

And let the force be with my parcel, so it arrives this week.

BTW, I cant think of any reason why would CIC decide to not give any intake update until 5000 gone. That won't happen before new year. They don't get any money from people sending their apps while CAP is already met, so that will just cause harm to them and confusion to us.

Unless they want to have more space for 'tweaking' and accepting more of some NOCs, unofficially and over the CAP.
But I can't imagine them doing that when they announce all the data publicly? Especially since now Kenney announced that they are going even more public with that new data portal.

Hmm why am I writing 'cap' in upper case all the time!?

Excuse me for my ignorance.. It seemed similar to something I saw earlier.

And related to my UPS shipment - I've just realized on UPS tracking that my parcel is going to Sidney, MB instead of Sydney, NS! LOL! Someone at UPS got it wrong, since I hold in my hand a receipt saying "Sidney, NS".

This is a never-ending story...

yes when i logged into ECAS with my UCI, it says no data is present. . So i guess I would be assigned a new UCI.
Jigzy, do call them, I did get my UCI before even my letter. It helps.

(Asked CIC agent right now for you and myself ) Mine and a bunch of my friend stayed same for several different types of visa application ranging from student visa, visit visa and now PR. Plus they changed it to UCI (Universal Client Id) to have. It makes sense as they want to have a history of everything regarding applications of a person in Canada.

jigzyy: I called CIC with my UCI and there's no use in calling them. Just wanted to save you some bucks and some time. You'd be referred to make contact with CIO, which the CS will tell you there's no number to reach them. You only have to email them.

What?! Sidney, Manitoba... man, call UPS up, they can re-route it for you. Don't let it go to MB, otherwise it has to come back to you and you'll end up having more freaking headache. I cared to take my time to make those comments, because even though I'm not from India, I like it as I like any other cultures esp. the influential ones, I presented some facts. It's time to wake up! Remember, I respect her as any other person, but no ideology/faith is unquestionable, I raised question about her teachings. I do assume that It will be same .
CIC has changed everything from 2011 - 2012.
Now even call centre are of no help. bad luck.

If I were the manager, I will update the application "received" daily rather than "accepted". CIO is performing unreasonable comparing with year 2011.
Maybe that is just their strategy for more money.

What the CIC CS you talked to has said does not make sense. Please keep in mind that sometime they misinform you as they are just like me and you who have access to "online stuff + just a little bit more informed" Take what you hear from them with a pinch of salt, always!

At the same time I agree with your point (showing fake workload to increase salary!), unfortunately that's how it is. Doesn't matter where you are Canada US Iran Serbia UK India etc.

I AM NOT SURE WHETHER CIC IS MORE KEEN WITH REGARD TO EARNING THE MONEY FOR CONSULTANT BUT IT IS 100% THAT
CIC WANTS WES TO EARN MONEY ..BECAUSE STILL THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE APPLYING FOR WES..THIS IS THE WAY CIC WANTS FOREIGN CURRENCY IN CANADA!
