I don't think so. If that was the case, common sense did not prevail...

Ther appears to be minor changes in the forms like the Supplementary information form is now editable.....In my application i took the print out of supplementary form and filled it manually...but the scenario now appears different....will this create a prblem with my application?

It should not be a problem because most of us did the same thing. I am sure they are aware of the situation.

There is no validity in these numbers. We are just a support group trying to help each other out...

I think all the applicants from India, whose mode of payment is credit card could face an issue !!!

As per the RBI directive, all international credit cards should be replaced by Chip based cards, that means all existing cards will be replaced by new ones. The new cards will be having new Card No., expiry date, and CVV no. The deadline to replace all cards is June 30, 2013.

http://www.medianama.com/2013/03/223-rbi-credit-card-money-transfer-guidelines/

- Convert existing cards to EMV Chip: Issuing banks should convert all existing MagStripe cards to EMV Chip card for all customers who have used their cards internationally at least once (for/through e- commerce/ATM/POS) (By June 30, 2013)

So, lets say if CIC charges the card after June 30, there is a chance that the transaction could get rejected !!!

I would recommend all to get in touch with their banks as for a possible solution, i just did and is currently awaiting an answer. Will update you guys whatever happens. If someone has a solution for this, then please kindly share.

But this is applicable only if you have used the card internationally .... if the card has not been used internationally ( I.e. not used outside India)..it should be fine ... please correct me if I' m i interpreting it wrongly...

michalovy - when did you send your app to CIO?

I haven't applied yet. I'm waiting for my IELTS results - they will be published and sent tomorrow. I hope to send the app mid next week. :-)

I am sure that CIO has calculated the number of completed applications by now but they are not releasing the numbers for some reason. On the status page they say that "The numbers on this page are updated at least once a week", and this is the 5th week, I don't believe that they have not received a single complete application yet.

What I can think of is that CIC will loose a lot of money if they declare the status now, they want to receive more applications so that they can charge more $$$. They charge a candidate if the file is complete but that person doesn't qualify. If we assume that 20% of the completed applications don't actually qualify. They would want to open maximum applications to charge such people who do not have enough points. If they post that they have received enough applications, people will stop sending applications.

JUST A THEORY !!!

Good luck with it. Try to send as soon as possible. 1112 seems to be one of the hot NOCs.

Thanks :-) I remain optimistic about qualifying within the cap. It seems that 1112 is hot but you never know...at least not until CIC publishes the numbers.
