I am sure that CIO has calculated the number of completed applications by now but they are not releasing the numbers for some reason. On the status page they say that "The numbers on this page are updated at least once a week", and this is the 5th week, I don't believe that they have not received a single complete application yet.

What I can think of is that CIC will loose a lot of money if they declare the status now, they want to receive more applications so that they can charge more $$$. They charge a candidate if the file is complete but that person doesn't qualify. If we assume that 20% of the completed applications don't actually qualify. They would want to open maximum applications to charge such people who do not have enough points. If they post that they have received enough applications, people will stop sending applications.

I'd say they haven't published yet because either there are so many applications that they have difficulties going though them or there are so few complete applications that they do not see point in publishing the numbers.

Thanks I remain optimistic about qualifying within the cap. It seems that 1112 is hot but you never know...at least not until CIC publishes the numbers.

Agreed. 1112 is probably a category with a high number of rejected cases (if CIC do their job properly). I remember reading somewhere that many accountants etc. have applied but clearly do not qualify under job description. Let's just hope for the best

I don't mind if a process naturally takes long time, we know that CIC receives thousands of applications, and it takes time to process, but I expect some transparency in the progress. Candidates have a right to know whats going on, and when will be the next update.

CIC is famous for being very unresponsive. They just returned 300,000 applications without even assessment after holding those for around 4 years. Another 200,000 FSW applications are currently in queue.

On top of that they have a target of saving $179 million over the next three years.

Guys, let's not be over-critical of CIC. Canada is probably one of the few countries giving skilled workers opportunities to immigrate. So instead of cursing them, we should just be thankful and patiently wait with optimism

Marta if you have your application pack back, send whatever they are asking for...There was a saying I think on MTV "The show ain't over(aka cap filled) until the fat lady sings(CIC anounces online that the cap was reached)!!".Send it asap and pray 4 the best!!
