Not necessarily Marta would get the first PER [I wish she gets :)]. It can be any one from the first week, or may be first 10 days. Its up to CIC on how they are working, or the specific VO for Specific NOC. Its quiet possible that instead of 2174, 2147, 1112, someone from less popular NOC gets a charge & PER first, since the VO was not pressurized by the burden of hundreds of apps ;)
Ya you are right, I was just scaring Marta.

Actually I counted 41 total irrespective of NOCs.

My guess is for hot NOCs, they would start with first batch of 300 received applications and see the completeness and charge them. so out of first 300, lets say 250 got through then they would take another batch to select remaining 50. Again this is just my guess but it makes more sense if they want to serve first come basis.

In the past, they used to open 1 week or 7 - 10 days of applications together and process them [Pre June 2010 applications]. I am not sure if they are doing the same thing. IF they followed the same thing, than they would have opened the first week of apps from Monday 13th instead of opening them in first week.

Enough of the DD validity please! :D

Worldwide cheques and DD/MC are valid for 6 months from the date of issue. A simple google search shows that India changed this to 3 months due to the issues mentioned on this page:

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/india-business/Validity-of-cheques-drafts-cut-to-3-months/articleshow/10626994.cms

Now logic says that any cheques or DD presented in India cannot be valid for more than 3 months but like someone said earlier that since the DD will be enchased overseas, the validity will be 6 months as is the norm.

Need to verify my logic? Google IMM 7000, the guide to filling the applications and it says in step 3: Pay the Fees ...

If there is no expiry date on your certified cheque, money order or bank draft and it is drawn on a foreign bank, it can only be cashed for 6 months from the date of issue. To ensure it can still be cashed when the fee payment is processed at the CIO, it must be issued no more than 30 days before you send your application to the CIO.

Aren't these simple instructions? Forget what your bank says (unless they mention an expiry date!!!). Its valid for 6 months as it will be presented in Canada. Just make sure that the DD you have in hand is not more than 30 days old when you're sending the application!

Hope this helps sort out all the confusion. And no, I'm not from India.

I have the same case so i can share my opinion with you .
I have worked for 4 companies also in the last 10 years and i couldn't get my first job experience letter, what i think about is that, in worst case scenario, they won't count this experience in your experience points, so if you need these points it will be a big problem. But if you have more than 6 years experience, documented and including the job you are applying for, it won't be a problem.

what do you think?!

What's that flag in your profile pic? The flag of Scotland with the colours inverted and a red devil in the middle! Never seen this.

[edit] That's an English lion, like the 3 lions on the England badge. Not a red devil like on the Manchester United logo :p
