What is the visa office for Applicants from Middle East? it used to be London but it seems London is no more catering Middle Eastern region.

My brother has his application ready so just wanted to confirm the VO before he sends it out, he lives in Qatar and has filled out his VO as Cairo, Egypt....is this correct?

This is exactly my case, my score without my spouse IELTS was enough for us, so my spouse didn't have this IELTS exam and won't have it (unless they require it)... i was so confused that i changed it in the application and reprint it twice.
what i did at the end is that i wrote that she's speaking good english but i didn't include her IELTS.

My opinion is that the IELTS test for a spouse is not mandatory like the main applicant and the most important documents which they can cause to return the application for being missed are the mandatory ones.
My spouse is an english teacher, i can't write that she doesn't speak english, it would raise more red flags than just saying that she's speaking good english but we don't need her IELTS score for our application.
simply, spouse IELTS is not mandatory, and you did the right thing filling the forms. Same case with spouse ECA is not required while you state her actual education in the forms.

Hey guys, newbie here.

I'm just wondering what people's experiences have been with the ECA? Did people go for CES, ICASC or WES (if not a medial applicant), and how long did they take?

CES says their processing times are 11 weeks on average, ICASC says 6-8 weeks and WES says seven working days.

Obviously at the moment time is of the essence! What has everyone's experience been of these establishments? Many thanks for any replies. Good luck all!

Cheers,
Jimothy
Got mine from WES smoothly,

Senior Alert

As I have understood, he/she doesn't have to live in a specific country to be eligible to apply in the specified Visa Office. What it says is: To be legally admitted for 1+ year -> This doesn't mean he/she has to live there at least 1 year but be admitted to live there. There's a difference. Other seniors please help this guy too.

jat praahji,

I'm no expert on DD/ banking but if the Manager has done correction & signed, I assume she knows her job well & it should get accepted. See if your application is accepted by CIO, they will deposit the DD in their bank which will be presented in .. say, SBI Toronto branch (if this where the DD is drawn to) via clearing channel.... unless & until the banker sitting in SBI Toronto br. takes an objection on overwriting/ correction rest assured you safe !
(Standard disclaimer: its my personal view)

I had called CIC (the helpline number in on the website and it works if u call from withing Canada) and told them the problem people are facing for the lag in cap information. I requested the executive to update her seniors so something can be done. She then told me that you can write directly to the minister. The details for the same are again on the CIC website. So its a good idea if we all write to him. Atleast in the long run this thing will get sorted out.

Hi all!
could it be a good idea for us to call CIO several times until we have at least an idea of when they will publish? At least they should say "in a week/a month/2 months...etc",anything but letting us wait every single day for updates!
Is the tel.number only available only for those in Canada? Can anybody call and try to get an accurate answer??...it's not a good idea to write to the Minister? the last thing on his mind is our list and we don't want him bothered....Anyway I saw him visiting the Silicon Valley community trying to attract business into Canada with Start up Visa, so FSW is not a priority to him...

So, anybody willing to call? ::)
