Hi Guys,I think this is my first post in this website. I have applied for the FSW visa from 2010 and both the time it was returned back due to the CAP limit and the third time in 2012 they stopped intake of the applications. I had applied under NOC 1122. This time i qualify for 2132 (Mechanical Engg). I have all the docs ready including the ECA and the funds. But I am really worried about the CAP limit again. I religiously believe the stats our Spreadsheet. Just wanted to know whether i stand any chance. I need some confidence. As the limit is only 300, i really dont want to make myself disappointed with another returned application.

HI Rawdah,

I am late this time due to some misunderstanding of the NOC category. I am also qualified for Financial Analyst NOC but later i found that I got to have a Bachelors Degree in Finance, but i had only masters in finance. and also the ECA took a very long time to happen. The univ in India where i did my Bachelors were on a strike due to an issue. This ate up most of my time in ECA process and lots of time spent over the Univ in UK too. and the funds, I had to wait for long time to release my funds. Now as its late, i am really worried. Even thinking of Quebec. But i have no idea about it. Got to sit and gain more insight on tht visa.

Hi luciferz888,

As per my research, CIC has changed its strategy. Its no more first come first serve basis. Though its not declared in public, they are actually looking for the best among the applications. That is why there is a huge delay in updating the applications received. If you happen to be the best applicant you might be lucky (Ex: What is the use of an immigrant who has all the points on table but would contribute to the economy only for few years.).

that is weird..so what is the purpose of the time stamp. but what i observed this year is that most who have been charged automatically gets PER...

do you think there will be changes in the CIC now that the minister has changed already?

the next cic cap update will give you a fair idea for NOC 2132.
You can compare it with the details on the spreadsheet and analyze your chances yourself.

Pal, you can't get no firm answer here... 2132 has 42 applicants on this forum (while global cap is 300, so only us make 14% of the cap), so that means the cap is near or possibly already done. Good thing could be that if it's not done today - you still have good chance, since applications are now slowed down very much, but there is really no way to know.
The spreadsheet can only give us an idea of relative ratios of NOCs, but we have no good idea how it compares it to real CIC world.

Personally, I'd probably apply if I was you.
