If someone has a valid visa on his/her old passport, then it is advisable to send the old passport along with the new one. There is another scenario in which if old passport doesn't have any valid visa but the passport holder has a travel history which can be confirmed from the old passport, then it is also recommended to send old passport along with the new one. In any of above cases, if passport holder doesn't send the old passport along with the new one, it is not going to put any negative impact on the application; it will be on the discretion of visa officer, he/she might ask for the old passport or just stamp the PR visa on the new passport.

If there is no valid visa on the old passport or there is no travel history recorded on the old passport, then it is not required to send the old passport along with the new one.

I agree with you Abu Hassaan. :)

Yeah now am feeling that there is some logic in sending the old one as it has a valid visa. That's y I posted this query.

Let's wait for the reply from them

Thanks folks

Hi All,

Completed medicals for my family and myself yesterday. Has anyone on this forum had any abnormalities reported in their blood / urine report?

I had severe viral infection last week so was taking antibiotics..it will reflect in the blood and urine report..so am a bit worried ???

Does anyone know how the VO deals with reported abnormalities?

Please help.

~NancyG

Dear Nancy, Do not worry. viral and other normal health deceases are not an issue. Only spreadable and major medical deceases are monitored. your case will be through.

I think blood/urine reports based on antibiotics won't matter much. They look for significant abnormalities. They might generally cut a slack for regular viral infections. I guess you don't have to worry much.

Dont worry nancy ,I also completed medicals on 10/03 even my husband and son were having severe cough and cold and were taking med. including antibiotics.

They dont check urine for presence of medicines but they check urine for syphillis and blood for HIV so dont worry xray for tuberculosis

I have heard if you have a valid visa in your old passport then it has to be submitted ( Not 100% sure -but logically correct) ,else it is not required since the new passport will show the old passport number and the details ( cancelled ).

I agree....only in case you have a valid visa in your old passport ...you should send it too....

Can I ask you some questions, Digitalsphere? I need to know what is your personal assessment. I mean your points. I have seen that your interview was waived. Thanks in advance. :)

Hey, as per budget proposal FSW only in 2015 with EIO option.

Thanks Shwcan!! But when asked if we had ever jaundice in the past we reported that we had it about 10-12 years back. So they asked for additional blood tests...SGOT/SGPT, Creatinine, etc. Taking antibiotics and paracetemol for a week or so does put stress on the kidney and it will reflect in the tests requested. I know I might be panicking but you never know ::)
