It seems that your wife is the principal applicant. If this is the case, then you really have taken a risk by stating that she is unemployed while she is working. It isn't an issue if she is not able to get reference letter from the current employer; you could have done two things, first would have decided no to claim points for the current experience or second would have written explanation stating the reason why she is not able to obtain reference letter from the current employer and could attach other supporting documents.
I am just thinking that CIC normally hires third parties to conduct the hidden verifications. These third parties do their job cleverly; they can get information from taxation department about the applicant. If they came to know somehow that you wife is paying tax regularly which will prove that she is actually working; hence it will become a case of misrepresentation. If that happens then it will put an adverse impact on your application.

Just want to know forum members view if they usually check only the current employer or previous ones.In my case my wife has shown experience for last employment and at the time of filing the application, I wrote homemaker as it was difficult to get exp. letter from the current one.
So technically she is unemployed from last two years.
Any comments??
