@ rallabandi, for now, this is all I could think of. Will let you know I recollect anything specific.
0. Read the CIC manual and documentation carefully before you prepare. There are minute details which you surely don't wanna miss when you prepare the application package.
1. Download all the forms from CIC website along with the checklist. Fill all the applicable forms carefully. If you leave anything on any of the forms unfilled, make a written memo to your self. Fill all the forms completely, and sign wherever required. Don't forget to validate the generic form.
2. Obtain original IELTS score report for primary applicant (mandatory) and spouse (optional). Originals to be sent to CIC.
3. Obtain employment reference letters from all the past and present employers on their original letterheads. Originals to be sent to CIC.
4. Get proof of funds documents - original bank statements for last 3-6 months signed by the bank authority, FD receipts etc. Make sure you show enough funds in easily liquidable form. Asset evaluation as mentioned on the CIC is not considered by them, but you may include it.
5. Obtain the ECA for the primary applicant. Original to be sent to CIC.
6. Obtain original PCCs for all countries where members included in the application have stayed for more than 6 months (not required for kids...please confirm the age limit though). You can send the PCCs with your application if you can arrange it in time. Else, you can send the application without it for now; but will have to submit when NDVO asks for it. Originals to be sent to CIC.
7. Get your (and your spouse's) BC translated. Make the affidavits. (for - 1. translation 2. your official name 3. name change after marriage)
8. Get a copy of your name change declaration in the gazette (optional)
9. Get the photographs done for all the members in the application as per the exact specifications mentioned on CIC website, and in required quantity. This is very important! Write your name and other details on the back of the photos as CIC has instructed.
10. Get international DD (if that's how you want to pay). Make sure it is valid for three months or more (therefore, get it just before you are ready to send the app). If paying by CC, fill the fee payment form carefully with the card number and expiration date etc. Make sure your bank honors international charge and that you have enough credit. Inform your bank that such charge will come in future. Keep your card in a secured place.
11. Arrange photocopies of supporting documents - passport copies (check passport expiry dates), payslips, tax documents, transcripts, marksheets, identification docs etc.
12. Prepare the package to be sent to CIC. Make sure the CIC address is correct on the parcel. Keep a photocopy of the entire package you send for your records.
Good luck.
