Has anybody heard from CIC yet? How is the process, basically? Do we expect to get a notification from them first (with some number/ID) and then they charge the CC? How did this happen in the previous years?

It was done and hopefully going to be like this:
1 - They first open the package, check if all required signs are done, all required documents are present, and all fields are filled. IF YES, than goes to next stage, IF NOT, they pack again, and send back.

2 - This stage, a Visa Officer at CIO decides the completeness of the application including matching job duties, calculating points and stuff [basically he goes through all of the documents what we have sent]. If you pass this stage, than your CC / DD will get cashed, a UCI will be assigned, and you will get an AOR, and your file will be transferred to respective visa office [will take few weeks for all these]. Beyond this stage, if get rejected, no refund will be made. IF CIO VO officer decides that something is missing, or job duties are not matched, he'll prepare a rejection letter, and you will get your application back without getting charged along with letter.

3 - Local CHC VO than studies your case, and basically all the Background checks, medical, Passport and stuff are done in this stage. If everything is okay, RPRF is sent and Issues a Visa. If something gets wrong, gets rejection and no fee refund.

That's it.

I sent my application but did not filled UCI number.. i believe UCI is for candidates who applied after 2010.

I had applied earlier in 2004 we did not use to have UCI earlier.. use to have client identification no. earlier but there was no column to enter it in any forms.. I sent it without this info.. is it allright?

Well I guess, local VO goes over once again, but usually does not overrule the previous VO's decision. He has to option to verify the experience by calling employers, or may be demanding real experience letters, pay stubs or bank statements etc if he feels something is fishy. It can be done for Educational documents, or IELTS or any document that has been provided with the application. He may even call for an interview.

If once he made his mind that this is not a complete file, or not a correct decision, he might reject on other reasons [which usually are dubious, and one can email with stronger proves to re-open the case] unless there is really something fishy.

Yes exactly. My guess, at least 2 weeks. It was about 2 months before, so 2 - 3 weeks is what we have to keep in mind.

By than, they have plenty of applications to go through, and decide which ones to move forward [on the basis of signature, complete & accurate fields & required documents on the checklist]

It is in "Delivery Facility in NOVA SCOTIA AREA - CANADA" it is not even in Sydney

I called them 2 times. When I called at 9am they said expected delivery date is today. Afterwards, I called at 1pm and they said that there is no possibility to be delivered today, and they didn't know why.
Ufffffff!!!!!!!

I think that they wait for more packages to arrive in order to deliver them at ones.
