Hello Red84. Please call on this number: 001 613 9 444 000. This is the number for Foreign Affairs, Trade & Canada. Then as follows:

01. Dial 1
02. You will get two options. Dont select anything and wait for about 5 seconds . It will then automatically say that listen carefully as options have changed. Then select 2.
03. Dial 1
04. Dial 2
05. Dial 1
06. It will ask you to enter 8 digit UCI number. But since you don't have this number, don't dial anything and wait. It will ask you 3 times to enter UCI number. Then it will say that it is transferring call to Call center agent.
07. When you speak to the call center agent, tell them that you have sent an application for FSW 2013 and that it is over 10 weeks that you heard any updates and would like to request status of your application. They will ask you your SURNAME, GIVEN NAMES, DOB and COUNTRY OF BIRTH. Then if there is a UCI number for you they will ask you to note it down.
08. You can then login at: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do?app= and enter your UCI number and details and track your application.

I tried to call yesterday but it said that toll free number is not available in our area. In such case how to call them??

is your query about checking the status in the ECAS?
If yes, maybe you're missing the '-' in the UCI when entering in the ECAS (It required you to enter the UC 8 digits separated by '-' eg (1234-4568))

This worked for me

When the PCC be submitted to NDVO if not initially submitted with application?
i.e. after geting AOR or when the NDVO demands the same ?

Dear Jatpunjabi, as per document checklist, the PCC can be submitted along with application. It remain valid for 1 year from the date of its issuance. If VO process your case within one year then you are not suppose to submit the PPC again. However one can also submit the PCC upon receipt of MR. in India PCC can be obtained from Regional Passport Office on same day. Thus I would suggest you to wait for MR.

What sort of BG check CIC will do? Employment or personnel? Will they do this through 3rd party agency or by themself.?

If they are suspicious about the documents provided they will visit the work location. One of my friend had this kind of experience. the verification team visited his work place inquired his neighborhood. Fortunately he is a genuine applicant.

Yes they will ask you for PCC along with MR for all members those are 18 year and above. You are not required to contact them at this stage. Children below age of 18 are required to submit the PCC.

Thanks for the information.. the reason why I asked is this is becasue out of my 8 years exp i worked for 2 employers ( first 1.1 with one and remaining 7+ with my current employer). Unfortunately I am not sure whether the old industry is still there or not as it was very small and running with around 30 employees at that time. When I tried to contact them before submitting the application I didnt got any reply and also their website seems to be not working so not sure whether that employer is still there or not.Will that be a problem?.

I paid using DD, my bank is yet to inform me the exact ecashment date, they r working on it... I got my UCI on 13 August through phone call, but at that time ECAS and IVR had nothing, but after few days both had been updated with my record, so I am assuming the DD ecashment took place anywhere between 10-14 August... thus from that time frame its been 2 weeks and I got no sign of any PER email. I emailed on 24 August, and it takes 18-20 days to get a reply.

There are others in this forum who were charged much earlier than me but yet to get PER, and few were told by CIO that they emailed them already, however the applicants didn't get it.

Have u got UCI? What's ur ECAS say?

Dear Cansufferer, PCCs are valid for 3 month from the information I got from the issuing authority, or the 1 year is a rule set by CIC which is supposed to supercede the validity period set by the local issuing authority?

Oboy, PCC doesn't come with validity. No issuing authority can give assurance that the person will not commit any offence in future. It is as on date only and gives certificate that the person is clean.

It is CIC who consider PCC issued within 1 year as one of the requirement for processing.
