Well the form clearly says to answer every question and leave nothing blank, put N/A or NONE in the areas that are not relevant to you. So it will be at the discretion of the person reviewing your file. I do not think this is a good enough to reject a file however, even in the 2011 group persons let off little things and still received AOR ( this I got from reading the 2012 forum) But as always this is only my opinion.

IslandBabe pls could you help out?

I left out those parts in my supplementary form that doesn't apply to me blank. Do you think I should have done that?
It happened in the background declaration form where they asked of government position, military experience etc IMM 5669E

Hi Nishtal.

I am making my prediction based on the timeline for updates last year. I like everyone else am very eager for the cap update, but contrary to what some are saying we really are not behind the last intakes timeline. In 2011 CIC started accepting the applications on the 1st of July, the first cap update came 15 business working days later on the 21st of July. This time (2013) the technically started accepting applications on the 4th May ......add 15 business days and that would take us to the 27 of May ( Next Monday.....given that last Monday <20th> was a public holiday in Canada) given that, I estimated that we should be hearing something from CIC next week.

Having said all of that, whatever persons feel that they can do to get CIC to speed up our applications, then of course go ahead :) We each have to do our part.

Hi IslandBabe,
I hope you are right, but Just wondering on what basis do you predict CIC will update the cap next week??

In the economic classes (schedule 3) form, I could not write my occupation in the required box of no. 12. As the occupation's box is too small to write by my laptop. What could I do?

The list from the link I gave you is the 24 occupations that the CIC requires for the current program. The link on that page carries you to the National Occupational Classification site that gives a break down of all the occupations and their description.

If your job duties match the job duties of NOC 2174, which is one of 24 required occupations, then you should apply.

See the main duties of 2174 here:

http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/ProfileNocCode.aspx?val=2&val1=2174&val17=2174&val18=0&val19=0

I am a software engineer...and would be sending my application soon. But I am confused about 2173 and 2174.
2173 is software engineers and even though not mentioned in the bullet points but if you click on the NOC list it is present.
Does it mean NOC list is a general list and only some of the jobs present in the NOC list are eligible occupations ?

Please let me know.Have all the software engineers applied as NOC 2174 ? ??

Attach a separate page to the form i.e. type up the full information on a document and submit it along with that form.
What I did was create a box similar to the one of the form in Microsoft Word and fill out and place it behind the form. I still filled out the details on the form even though it didn't fit but at least they have the additional page to see the full details.

The bad thing about waiting is the nightmares phase about incomplete forms or missing documents or job duties that can send you to another NOC !!
You just reach the moment that you feel "ok, if you will shoot me, just shoot me fast" :)

It is a requirement ... But u hv the option to send at a later stage ...

In my case i have to submit from 5 countries, so u can understand ...

Just for my further clarification:

Regrading the PCC, is it just a matter of sending the PCC to CIC/CIO later when the PCC is available and they will just attach it to your file and continue with the processing.....or do you have to actually now sit and wait for CIC/CIO/VO to request the PCC that wasn't sent with the initial application?

The reason I ask the above question is that, item 18, page 6 on the Document Checklist [IMM 5612] (PDF, 233 KB) simply says, "You must be ready to submit them when requested by an officer"

The Document Checklist doesn't suggest that when you eventually have the PCCs available you can simply submit them for them to be attached to your FSW application..........the checklist suggests that you will have to sit and wait until whenever the officer requests them.

The problem with waiting for an officer to request the PCC, is that by the time the officer request the PCC from you, that requested PCC might now have been expired.

Also, for people who are not sending PCC with the initial application, do you have to write a cover letter/note indicating/explaining that the PCC is not
attached and why its not attached and that you will send the PCC at a later date?

You do not have to submit a cover letter explaining why there is no PCC. PCC takes varying times from different places....some can take up to 6 months. They also have an expiration date. For those that take up to 6 months to get I would start the process now. For those that can be acquired in a shorter time period less than 2 months, then I would wait until I have received AOR or second AOR and commence the process as soon as possible. How I was clear.

Ok, I think I understand what you said......you are basically saying if you didn't send PCC with the initially application the next option for PCC submission is to essentially wait until the PCC is requested.

Based on what I have seen written in various threads, I got the impression that there was some kind off "formal PCC submission" process for those who did not submit PCC with initial application.....but now I see that that is indeed not the case.

I am keeping assessing my chances against the following facts:

1. NOC 2174 is too popular
2. New CIC forms were published on May, 4th
3. The new requirements to provide educational evaluation
4. My application received on 23rd
5. 4/5/11/12/18/19/20 are weekends or national holiday
6. My application received on the 13th business working day.

Can anyone make an estimation on my chances !! :'(

No one can say anything right now about their own chances [even whose docs got reached in first week]. Once the figures are out, than only we can say what the chances are.

I believe on the first update, which is expected tomorrow, 2174 will show as capped.
