Amen, +1, and pass the crying towel!

My wife an I have been apart 2years and 2months now. Sent her back home so she could collect her son, and get things settled back home. Thinking the entire process would be faster Outland; then got wrapped up in a year of screwing around with the Philippines government bu-rock-racy (damn spell check on this phone!), just to turn around and stuck in the bu-rock-racy of the now on strike immigration process, woohoo! Two for two, now as soon as this is done I expect the airlines to go on strike or some such nonsense :)

It is hard!

I just started this and I am suffering already, it has been two months since I left my wife back and started the sponsorship process. We both suffers and miss each others too much! stress and waiting is killing us and I don't what to do! I am trying to keep my self busy and it is not helping!

I know some of you might laugh on my case because your have been waiting for months which make my case trivial!

God bless us all!

ism45, yes there are many who have been waiting a long time; however, when we are missing our loved ones, the time can feel like an eternity for all of us. I have noticed though after reading a lot on this forum it is pretty normal to go through a roller coaster of emotions with some days much harder than others. Keeping busy will help over the long run most of the time, but for those days when it feels unbearable, we just have to keep praying though it. Sometimes those first few months can actually be more difficult as we are trying to adjust without our spouses/partners to a situation (immigration) none of us would have typically chosen. Once we send off the paperwork we have no other option than to try and "wait well and patiently". Blessings.

Even though I've been living with my wife in her country for four years, I will be leaving for Canada in mid-January, as my final visa to stay here will expire. Of course, we have purchased three flight tickets (for myself, my wife and our shared baby) but it remains to be seen if my wife will receive her PR by then. We submitted her passport in mid-March and have heard nothing since the strike. I feel the clock ticking down by the day. Will we have to draw straws to see who gets to stay with the baby? It's really frustrating, especially since the VO never returns messages. Even before the strike began, no one ever answered the phone at my VO, why do they bother having an inquiry phone line at all???

Another thing that bothers me is how indifferent the government seems to be. Assuming the strike pay is pretty low, I would guess that the officers want back to work, but there is no pressure being applied to the powers that be to do anything. Regular Canadians don't care, the tourist season is almost over and now that student visas are being issued online, the universities no longer have complaints about this strike. My family's case is pretty straightforward it would seem, so I can only guess that my file is just sitting in a huge pile of other applications on an otherwise empty desk and chair!

To sum it up, it sucks. My husband and I, we end up arguing about the silliest things. It really breaks me because when I'm done pouting I can't just go up to him and give him a big hug.

I understand you completely. I think many couples are in the same way as you, thats why this should have a solution. It can really break up a marriage, the stress is terrible. Now, to wait for a decision.

So muuuccchhhh stressssss! I also want my wife here and get the family all together!!!!

Good luck to all of you!

Hey guys. Newly married here too (relatively). Married in february after 2.2 years. Havent seen my spouse in 6 months. I miss her and our place like crazy. Its been really tough on me. I was ordered to leave Canada and have to re-apply from outside. Well turns out due to my citizenship i am tied to the office that is one of the longest in processing (Ankara) and now this strike bs too (like fuck!). I really miss her, we talk twice a day before she goes to work and after, we also skype lots. We talked so much, when immigration lawyer asked for proof of that we interact on daily basis for appication i sent her file with 12500 pages (thats how much me and my girl talked since february).

We also spend a lot of money on the phone..its been really hard for me to see, thats shes far away, she works and I dont and its been really rough watching her run around trying to make stuff on time (money wise). I really despise that and i try to help as i can when I get odd jobs here and there.

Another issue is that i ve spent almost 7 years in canada, for all these years i have totally alienated myself from my family(that i dont get along with too well) and my friends outside of Canada. So i am alone and i am very lonely. Its really hard and not like i am not a fun guy to be friends with, but its hard to make friends when your mentality has become totally canadian and people dont necessarily understand you. My family doesnt understand me,period. My only family all these years been my wife and my friends in Canada so its really taken hard toll on me. Every day i catch myself looking at calendar days on end. I know you are wondering what the hell because I just submitted but imagine waiting 6 months to have documents filled out properly because beaurocracy wouldnt let some of the proof to come in earlier...So waiting is like looking at the clock-literally killing.

I hope this is over soon and I am (so are all of you) re-united with your spouses. We cant really afford seeing each other (travel wise) so our only choice for now would be hearing a positive and fast reply from Immigration. I pray for all of you to hear positive reply as well.

Amen, brother! I try so hard not to worry about the future but it's always nagging me on the inside. No matter how close you and your spouse are, it inevitably causes friction and worries.
I just got my ATIP notes last week and read my wife's file has been transfered to another department for an extra close security check, as though my wife is a spy or something because she left mainland China twice on business. That was ten years ago! God knows how long it will take until these clowns realize my wife is just a regular businessperson and that she has nothing to do with her government. I've read that check alone can take up to 6 months (pre-strike estimation). This is aside from the fact that according to the notes, it has been decided we are a 'genuine couple'. I guess my spouse is a 'genuine' wife with a secret life in espionage! I've called MPs. I've written letters. Nobody cares at all. In all my years as a Canadian citizen, I've never felt so let down by my own country until I started dealing with CIC.

Hello everyone

I truly feel everybody's pain. We just got our visa after 8 months of waiting, and i know how hard this process is.

I strongly advice you to do any thing you can to speed up the process. Email them, fax, phone, even visit them.

Based on my case, our file not finalized until we made a visit to the embassy itself. And we were surprised that our file was ready and the visa got issued within one week from our visit.

I know also aboutb2 cases of people applied for TRV and this is how they 'poked' thier application

If you do care about your spouse, just try to do anything possible to speed the process up

Cheers
