Dear All

I have gone through IELTS and my over all bands is 6.5 on both the attempts. but I need more to qualify. Is it advisable to take French Language classes for 4 more points which R required to complete 67 points. What is the time duration for learning French.

regards

Getting 4 points from French, if you have not studied it before might need quite some time. I would say at least 8 months! But then again it depends on how intensive and well you learn it. Maybe it's a better idea to improve your IELTS. That might take less time.

I have claimed my French language skills "Basic" and have attached a certificate of studying 400 hours of French language course for 2 years.
Do you think I may be awarded points for French? How many points?
Thanks,

I have never heard for basic at French they require Tef, only for moderate and high.

I'm afraid not. You should have taken TEF (or at least provided the result of an official French language Test, such as DELF; though TEF is what visa office asks for French proficiency proof).

Of course they ask for it. It is clearly mentioned in the immigration guide. Though some people say, there have been cases that their DELF results have also been accepted, but at least an official test result (TEF or maybe DELF) is required.
