I totally agree. When I first read the posts I was going to address that...but didnt know how. A common law marriage is basically 'we would be married but X is the reason why we are not BUT we see ourselves as married but havent/wont do so for whatever reason'..wither it be personal reasons for not getting married aka "I dont believe in marriage"-which is totally understandable to the religious, he is of X religion, I am X religion, we cant be married because of this...canadianwoman said:You can call your common-law partner 'my partner' or 'my spouse' or 'my common-law partner' or 'my common-law spouse'. Referring yourselves as Girlfriends/Boyfriend in this process is defiantly not long term relationship status...which is what they are wanting.
