I am a bit confused. We can use B4 for both goods accompanying and goods following, correct?

Can we state general categories, like "clothing" or "books" and approximate the value? I have no idea how much most of my things are worth. If I have to list every book and every shirt I own that is going to be a tremendous task.

Can we state that goods are to follow even if we end up not bringing them? I don't know what I might ship later, or not.

What type of items need pictures? Jewelry, what else?

Thanks!
General category in single line will do. such as clothes; books; sports gear; utensils; furniture etc. For most (as they are used/new) state Zero.
Yes you can state items and not bring them as well.
I have heard pic of jewelry and expensive items such watches are recommended but I did not need pictures.

What I Did for Landing Was --- Made an Excel Sheet with 3 Columns [Item, Quantity, CAD Value] and make a list for both Accompanying & Goods to Follow, and it was accepted

You didn't use the actual B4 form? Or you used an Excel as a continuation sheet for the B4 form?

Thanks for the replies everyone.

This is a great thread. Thanks for all your posts :)

Hi Qorax

I was going through your post on canadaVisa forum on various events .Thx a lot was very helpful. I had received my visa on Mar 26th 2015 I would be travelling on July 12 2015 from India and my wife would be joining me in mid of november 2015. and had a query regarding B4 goods (carring + Accompaning).

When I(PA) will land on July 12 I will have my goods and some household goods which i plan to put under "goods to accompany" having both B4 and B4A (2 copies each).

My wife will land on mid-nov and would carry her goods including jewellery under "goods to accompany".

The query is do i have to get her list too categorised under "goods to follow"(including Jewellery photos) along with my list "goods to accompany" on my first landing.

Regards,

Sobin Paul

Quick question - If my spouse is landing after a month, do I have to fill up with Customs form for her (goods to follow) or does she need to carry her own form alongwith the list of items / pictures of jewelry etc

Dear all,
Where can I find B4 forms to enlist things I am taking with?
Can I get them on CIC website?

I am assuming that you are the main applicant.
The main applicant has to provide the complete good to follow list when he is landing. The custom will take your list (B4) as a backup for the official goods to follow list. If you do not go to custom right after landing you have not a good to follow list.

You can have two list one for accompany and one for the goods to follow.
All the goods your wife brings in are goods to follow. They need to be already on the list and when she arrives she has to declare them at custom for goods to follow.
My advice take the original with you the airport when you pick her up, and give her a copy before she comes here.

Thank you for your help.

And I have a question:
f) For the Goods to Follow BOX [below the list rows], "Tick" it.

On the B4 table for the goods to follow, I am surely to tick "Yes";
But on the other B4 table for the accompanying goods, I am not sure if I should tick "No" (or just leave it blank).

Thank you for your reply.

Sorry I do not have the time to look up the current Goods to follow list right now. So I am not sure what you are referring too.

However, I would leave it blank for now and than ask them. If it is time critical for you right now. You can make the correct cross on the print out anytime by hand.

When I have some time I will have a look at my list.

I must say I found the canadian custom really nice when I was landing, so explaining that you did not know where to make the cross - I am guessing - would be no issue.

I declared everything when I entered. Even when I knew that I will bring most of it after 1 year.
What would speak against declaring them right now?? Whatever is on the list, you can bring in anytime later. I still have some parts in my home country.

Do we have to fill single B4 form or individually for all family members like spouse kid n self?

I am not getting anything by cargo but will get more stuff after 2 / 3 yrs when I come back again like dinner set n utensils + Indian clothes. Do I have to fill in B4A for the same.

Request you to confirm at the earliest.

I am also getting gold jewellery evaluated. Is there any limit on the amount of jewellery I can bring in?
