Form B4 (Goods to Follow/Accompanying List): How to ???

Hi all,

I have a question on B4 form, hope someone can help to answer it.

There is classification type in B4 form, there are four types: Former President, Beneficiary, Seasonal Resident, Settler.

For PR landing for the first time but just living for a couple of months rather than more than 12 months, in this case, should they be considered as Settler? If not, which type is more suitable in this case?

In this case, you don't need prepare a B4 form. The form is to be use when people intend to establish residence in Canada and live there for at least 12 months.

Thanks for your information. But if landing as PR without B4, it seems that there is no chance to use goods to follow in next time. Please correct me if any misunderstandings here

Certainly there are chances to settle Canada and submit B4 later.

Dear, Actually while landing as PR you have to satisfy IO that you intend to seetle permanently in Canad (between the lines )... So you fall under "settler" category", hence, do prepare B4 and submit it. i won't advise to land without it, in case you intend to bring in any household later, which would be duty free if within 3 years.

I hope someone can give me some advice here regarding the B4 form. I am a Canadian citizen (non-resident) and my husband will be a landed immigrant. When filling in the B4, do we have to fill in separately or together in one form? If we can fill out just one form, which box should be ticked in classification type? a former resident or a settler? Thank you very much for your help!

Persons landing 1st time as PR need to fill in with category "settler", so do your spouse.

I will be landing with my husband next month. I have a question about PR card. Since we will be staying for just one month this time, and will leave Canada for a few months and then go back again. In this case immigration may not apply a PR card for my husband, is that right? I can still apply one by myself, just that I need to pay for the application fee again, am I correct? This might be very basic questions for landing but I would like to get some clear idea about my landing process -
I am going to land on 3rd October 2015 from USA using AVR rule for returning back to US after 10-15 days.

1) Is that only the entry by road (self driving) while returning back to US will make eligible to use AVR rule..?
2) What is form B4/B4A..? Is it required only during crossing border by car...?
3) Is it safe to drive to canada by my own car and return back to US..? safe interms of immigration and custom issues at on canada side..?

If I assume driving by car for landing process is favorable option for AVR rule, then What should I do for car and form B4/B4A..? CAn i bring my own car and can I inform to officer that I will be returning to US after 10 days..? so I am not going to import my car now.

Hello all!
I am the primary applicant, planning to land before my spouse. Can I create 1 B4/B4a form (2copies) for myself and later when my spouse decides to land, have her own B4/B4a form? That way I might be able to push most goods to accompany in her list, since I am at this point not fully ready with a final list.
In essence, the question boils down to whether the form is per-person landing or 1 per family only.

I am a bit confused. We can use B4 for both goods accompanying and goods following, correct?

Can we state general categories, like "clothing" or "books" and approximate the value? I have no idea how much most of my things are worth. If I have to list every book and every shirt I own that is going to be a tremendous task.

Can we state that goods are to follow even if we end up not bringing them? I don't know what I might ship later, or not.

What type of items need pictures? Jewelry, what else?

By any means including personal carry until X years. The customs officer said 10 years when I landed with good to follow document.
