I'm going to land this month, but only for a day or two. I will come back to US and return with my family after 2-3 months.

Do I need to include my car in the GTF? What should be the category for that?
The second section in form B4 with heading Conveyances is for car.

Does goods to follow means the items that you will bring in your next visit? Like if you are planning to return from Canada after six months of landing and bring in some goods? Or does it mean the goods that you booked in cargo to be followed in few days?
Experts, please help
If you are a new immigrant you can bring your the items on the stamped form B4 at any later date. So it is not only the cargo already booked.

Can anybody please clarify whether the items which will be brought only in the second visit should be listed in the Goods to Accompany list or Goods to follow list ?

It will depends if you have the intention to become a settler (as defined by the CBSA website) at your second visit to Canada.

Yes. Just write the value of items and total them at the bottom. If you don't want to fill form B4 now that is fine, customs officer will fill it for you at Canadian airport.

Regards,
Rizmayo, I have a few Canadian gold coins, one ounce Maple leafs. The value written on the coin is $50, do I write that, or the value of one ounce of gold at this time... $1300??

Thanks for your assistance,
Cam

Thank you Steaky, that is what I think as well... Just in case though, I will call "Canada Border Services Agency" and see what they say... will post their response here later for others to benefit.

Thanks again,
Cam :)

Hello everyone,

Is it possible for the CBSA to retrieve their copy of my B4 Goods to Follow from almost 4 years ago? I have a vehicle on that list that I would like to finally import, but I cannot find my stamped copy.

I will call and ask them on Monday but I thought I would pose my question here in the meantime.

Hi everyone:

I called Canada Border Services Agency twice with the same question about how to value our gold coins in the B4 document and got two different answers

I informed the officer that I had a few 1 oz Maple Leaf gold coins. On the coin it says its value is $50, do I write $50 in the B4 form for value or $1300, which is the price of 1 oz of Gold currently?

The first officer said you have to write the value that it says on the coin, it does not matter if it is made of gold, silver or zinc... He mentioned many coins are worth more or less than the metal that goes into making them, but we take the value that is written on them.

For example, he said that the 1 cent US coin is actually worth 1.8 cents in Copper, but no one values it at 1.8 cents, just what was written on it. He also said there are laws against melting the 1 cent coin to sell the metal.

Confused, after 10 minutes I decided to call the agency again and verify the answer by speaking to another agent... well this time I was told to put the value of 1 oz of gold at present time, which is $1300 :p

I am going with the second officer, but has anyone who has settled run into this problem? What did you decide to do?

Thanks,
Cam

Right, I've waded through so many threads on this trying to ensure I've got the right information! If i've understood correctly I'm going to end up with four completed forms, with 2 copies of each as below?

GOODS ACCOMPANYING
B4 E (14) - Listing first 8 items
B4A (05) - Remaining accompanying items

GOODS TO FOLLOW
B4 E (14) - Listing first 8 items
B4A (05) - Remaining items to follow

From what I can tell the B4E form has changed slightly though from when the first threads on this were created. Where the form says "Additional list of goods >" the first box on the right used to state "Form B4A", which I assume you check if you're including an additional page like I am for each, but this now on the current form says "Form BSF186A". Am I right in thinking BSF186A is just another name for the B4A form? I've tried searching for this form name without much success so apologies if this has already been covered.

I think the only other major difference between the two forms (contents aside of course!) is that for the goods to follow forms only I will mark the box that says "Goods to follow > YES" on B4E and the "List of Goods to follow" box on B4A?

Thanks in advance to anyone for their help. I think I've got it right but I'm landing next week so starting to panic a little!

I would rally appreciate some input in regards to what value put in the B4 forms…. if we have an electronic 5-6 years old, do we put the original value or what is worth now?
