You should create a thread titled "CJG's Useful Letter Templates" and put this and all the others in it with the message titles being when you use them. :)

Hopefully people are just cutting and pasting if they want to. :D :D

I'm bumping this thread for those of you that are starting new threads regarding the strike. It may be easier and keep us all informed if we post to one common thread. :D

I have no idea what "bumping" means but here is a thread that better explains the position of the FSW's:

http://www.pafso-apase.com/news_releases.php?newsID=151

When a new reply is made on a thread, that thread (no matter where it was, page 1 or 100) goes to the top of page 1. Hence, get's "bumped" up.

Thanks. There are a million of these threads going now.

"Meanwhile, the union believes the walkout at the Mexico City embassy, which includes immigration and visa-processing workers, will have a significant impact, but said it doesn’t plan to target higher-profile immigration and visa processing offices abroad in Delhi, Beijing and Manila."

That would be excellent news for all those applying through those offices.

I was thinking the same thing...

5.3 years of wait, file almost at the brink of completion in New Delhi, and now strike

When it rains, it pours..

In other related news, the 2013 Canadian Foreign Service Officer Awards will be announced at a dinner hosted by PAFSO in Ottawa on Thursday, June 13, 2013. The awards were created in 1990 by PAFSO to recognize exceptional achievement by career Foreign Service Officers..

That is an old article. Try something newer... http://m.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/diplomats-work-stoppages-slow-down-visa-applications/article12478610/?service=mobile

As you can see Beijing, Shanghai, Delhi and Chandigarh are also off now.

scos, thanks for this recent update. it really helps to have links to news articles. :)

Actually, they have posted about this strike on June 5th on the CIC website which clearly states all visa applications will be delayed. In my case, I applied for a visitor visa on May 18th, now with the strike I am looking at having it approved by August. There is huge warning box on the CIC website and for more details you can refer to my posts made on the general and visitor forums stating there is a STRIKE. Search for the word STRIKE which should be there in the subject line.

This is a huge deal and not to mention an utter disappointment for me personally, and countless immigrants too.
