Hi all

I enjoy very much reading all the discussions whether or not they are to my level of understanding!
But I believe the creation of this thread was meant to for us to be kept informed about the strike itself.

Has anyone here had any updates regarding the strike?

Hiya friend! How is Manitoba. Summer there yet?

Do you or anyone here knows how many Visa Officers work in each mission? I am sure it is nothing like the Mississauga plant (if I can call it like this)

I remember years ago when our Athens Embassy employed about 10 people to deal wit Immigration and Visas. (Athens is no longer a VO of course)

The nice weather arrived a little later than we all would have liked but things are great now. The Mrs. and I are going to do a little road trip up to Gimli Manitoba this weekend just to get out of the city.

I think it depends on the size of the VO how many officers they have. It also depends on the government of the day and just what their own intentions concerning immigration are.

Wow. Gimli! Isn't it the place where that pilot glided that 757 airliner down without even a nose bleed back in the 80's ?
I was living in Canada then and I remember the name of the town.
Actually the story of that accident has a name: Gimli glider!

How far is it from where you are?

I learned much from this thread as well. It helps to know that it isn't all of the VO's that are on strike. I read that only those processing TFW and dealing with tourists are mainly effected... but that the govt then takes VO's from family class to help fill in those areas. Although it does slow the process down, at least it is still being worked on. That is good to know.

Hi Tom, I'm trying to stay positive, sometimes it is difficult to do. I would much rather be with my hubby now. But we make up for it on my weekends that I don't work by going to visit nice places, like tourists, nice restaurants and museums and things like that.

omg yes... probably my situation is not as difficult as others... im just waiting for my Temporary Resident Visa and WP... but my boyfriend moved 7 months ago and if i dont get my visa we wont be able to see each other until his visa expires... in 3 years. i seriously dont want to consider that option, so PLEASE whoever is supposed to solve this with the PAFSO people, DO IT SOON!
