Hi guys, for those who submitted certified cheque/bank draft/money order, did you check with the bank about whether CIC cashed them out? And is the information banks tell you accurate, meaning if CIC cashed it out you will be told so?
I haven't called or visited because CIC has not yet come to my application package yet (and I am sure about it). I just hope to get some experience from people who used bank draft long before and see if they could check with their bank regarding the status of the bank draft.joolery said:Why not call the bank you got it from to ask?
God no... why would I do that?hahamylove said:Hi guys, for those who submitted certified cheque/bank draft/money order, did you check with the bank about whether CIC cashed them out?
Gosh, thanks so much for your experience sharing. This is EXACTLY what I worry the most about so at least you are helping me take precautious steps.cecapp14 said:My experience with TD was:
1st time, by phone: after telling me they were not able to check, the operator spoke with a supervisor who told it was not encashed yet and it would be better to go straight to the branch.
2nd time, at the branch: the guy checked and immediately told me it was not encashed.
3rd time, at the branch: another guy told me there was no way of checking the encashment of a bank draft and was assuring me that no one could tell me something about. He addressed me to another guy and this guy told me that is possible and was not cashed.
Bottomline: when I received the AOR, it showed an encashment date prior of my last checking.
So or the "negative" guy was right or takes time to update the status. I am more for the second option.
Suggestion is not to freak out (as I was doing) if they tell you is not been encashed yet.
cecapp14, I am revisiting this thread because I am experiencing this horror - been to bank multiple times and learned that my draft is never encashed. Fingers crossed for AOR to come!cecapp14 said:My experience with TD was:
