Hi everyone,

Such a stressful situation and I am in your shoes and share your pain!

My work permit expired on July 7th.
Applied for restoration on July 15th (via mail because there was no online option for me since I am a PGWP holder and Provincial Nominee for PR).
PR agent told me that they cant process my application because of my out of status.

@keysersoze I have a few questions if you do not mind:

1. how did you get your restoration so quickly?
2. Is your restoration status different than your previous status?
3. Can your PR application process when your status is restored as visitor or if you get a visitor visa?

@RyanKr - is there an update on your restoration application? Did you submit it on paper?

Hey, very similar similar situation for me. PGWP and applied for PR (through EE BC PNP) while on maintained status in August 2024. PGWP extension just got rejected, lost maintained status and need to restore. Do you know if BC PNP will revoke my nomination as i am no longer working at the company that nominated me? Well, not working at all I guess.. I'm also guessing I should restore ASAP so my PR doesn't get processed while im out of status? What if I applied for restoration and PR gets processed while restoration is in process? Would appreciate whatever you went through / know about

Thanks, just an update. Turns out I do not have to apply for restoration as I am on authorized stay. This is because I applied for a closed work permit with my employer that sponsored me for BC PNP while I was on maintained status. I just need to wait until closed permit or PR is processed (hopefully both get accepted). However, if the closed permit gets refused, then I need to apply for restoration ASAP as PR will not be granted if I am out status, as you mentioned.

Is it true that they can’t take final decision on PR if we are not applied for restoration as soon as we get rejection for workpermit. There is 90 days time to apply for restoration right? I’m thinking to apply it within 90 days. Because I’m in the final stage of my PR application biometric, medical everything done. im worried to apply for restoration because my work permit extension got rejected in 20 days , if i apply for restoration also if they take decision again in a month then I have to leave country , that’s why im waiting. Plz can someone suggest me on this.

Its under the PNP PR, I have the nomination cert but it wasn't on the list of required documents when submitting my application, so they refused it for not being there.

What happened next? Can you please share the time line. I have the similar situation.

I have the same scenario. Bowp was refused. My bc employer has confirmed that I can go back to work once I have a valid work permit;
