I am fairly new to this forum and I can see that a lot of those inquiring have had their lives changed by the people who shared their knowledge and expertise on the subject. Kudos to all of you who did it without asking for anything in return!

Along with the many newbies here, I too, am an aspirant of an OWP. Here's how my story goes:

My wife has already been nominated for PR (after being promised of it and after 6 years of waiting and transferring from one employer to another to another). She is just waiting for her approval through the SINP as a skilled worker. My eldest daughter and I, applied for study and open work permits, respectively, last year (January 2014) but got denied. At that time, there was no PR application for my wife yet. I am now once again going to try our luck to apply for the same but this time I would like to be sure of what the necessary documents and steps I should take to avoid being denied the second time. One of the posts I have read says that it will be hard to expect a positive result the third time if you get denied twice.

On February 27, 2014, I received a letter from the Canadian Embassy in Manila stating the reasons for the denial. Here is what it says:

"You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada by the end of the period authorized for your stay". On the subsection, what was highlighted was: 1) your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence, 2) your personal assets and financial status

Also, in "Other reasons", it said "you are or will be unwilling to support yourself or any other person who is dependent on you, and have not satisfied an officer that adequate arrangements for care and support, other than those involve social assistance, have been made.

As for my daughter, the only one marked why her application for student permit was denied is about the "Other reasons".

What I did not understand was, we were advised by our agent in Canada to have our Medical Exams already prior to the receipt of this letter and we underwent the same only to find out we will get denied.

Any feedback to this inquiry would be most appreciated.

Its not true po na mhirap maaproved in the 3rd time, dhil naaproved po ako iny 3rd attempt, same tau ng reason ng refusal nung 2nd submission ko, ngdgdg lng po ako proof of funds , since wala akong bngay last time.pede po kaung mgdagdag ng any docs n s tingin nyo is makakatulong s application nyo.
Ok lng po n mgpa upfront medical po kc mas mblis ang process, gnwa n po yan ng frend ko, after her submission, by the next day, my nareciv n cyang email na approved n application.
Just pray lng po, at ibbgay Nya po yan stin, in a perfect time

Gusto ko magseek ng advice sa inyo, TFW po ako nagttrabaho sa B.C. and planning to apply for BC PNP soon. Bagong kasal po ako at si misis ay nagttrabaho nman sa lethbridge, ang status ng passport nmin ay prehas pa din single at ndi pa gamit ng asawa ko ung surname ko. isasama ko sya sa application ko ng PNP pra sa ganon ay mkapag apply ng SOWP. Kaylngan po b muna nmin mgpachange status bago magpasa ng application?

Good day po! I'm just a newbie here. I'm planning to apply for SWOP. Is there anyone po who could help me to answer my queries that are listed below? I do have some documents but not sure if kumpleto na po ang hawak ko.
1) What are the needed documents to submit or requirements po?
2) Does an applicant really have to have personal assets and passbook para ma-approved ang application?
3) If passbook is needed, what is the minimum amount of the passbook?
4) Regarding sa medical po, do I have to wait for their instruction before undergoing medical?
5) How long will it take for this kind of application considering no problems will be encountered during the application?

Hoping po that someone would help me to answer my queries. Thank you very much!

Hello guys,

For those who have already landed, hinanapan ba kayo ng OEC sa airport? I know hindi na kelangan ng OEC pero confusing kasi yung mga nababasa kong experience ng mga sowp holders. I went to poea trinoma to inquire and sabi nila they can't give me an OEC bec I don't have an offer letter. I tried to request for a documented confirmation from them pero hindi nila ako binigyan. I-explain ko na lang daw sa Immigration Officer sa day ng flight ko :'(
