Halu oxie18!! Thanks sa comments. Sayang naman now u lang nalaman, but it's good at least mkakpunta parin kayo dun, never too late. Good luck din sa application mo. Kelan naiapply extension ng hubby mo? Pag same employer kc 128 days processing per CIC website. Sa hubby ko naman new emp, 74 days ngayon pero dati talaga less than 2 mos. lang. Nagkapostal strike kasi kaya nagkaron ng pile of applications ang Vegreville. Hoping nga na bumilis ulit ang processing while we are waiting for new work permit, kc naging 82 days pa yan, buti bumaba. hopefully din sa extension or renewal bumilis from 128 days....Good luck... Sana magkita kita tayo dun although medyo imposible kc sa Ontario kami, i think si faithyou lang ang nasa forum na nandun, hope to meet her there.Mostly kc nasa Alberta.... Tama tong ginagawa natin, while waiting kinocomply na documents para less hassle and worries.

Hi! Buti online application, it's 81 days processing lang instead of 124 now.. so hopefully end of October or 1st week of Nov, dyan na work permit ni hubby.... good luck!!!! I just got an update from CIC website, new work permit processing is now only 68 days from 74 days.... hope bumilis pa lalo..

Hello faithyou!!! nice to hear from you... My hubby is in Alberta now but his new work destination will be in Thunder Bay City, Ontario.. I am not certain of its distance from Toronto... But hope malapit lang?

By the way, if I may ask , how's the cost of living there in Ontario? ok naman po b? also, is it true na double tax daw dyan? sbi ng iba pero walang basis....

Hope madali me makahanap ng work at sana din my mapagiwanan me sa kid namin while working, merun b dyan playhouse? hehe para makaipon kami ni hubby... at wish ko lang din libre schooling? how about apartment rental, expensive po ba? ;D sorry kung madami tanung..... ??? thanks much!!!!

rental? sa amin is $699 /month it includes water, condominium type lang sya, we're the one paying our electricity.check & compare rentals sa kijiji.com...sa work medyo nahirapan me maghanap kasi i need to take the board exam pa here before ko mapractice my profession... kaya all types ng work eh inaplayan ko.. actually 1st day of work ko today...sa KFC...finger lickin good...hehehe...dito sa mall beside our place,walking distance only...about the kid thing? have no idea e, kasi wala pa kami kid, pero marami naman siguro playhouse, or mga baby sitter. ;D

Hello!!! Welcome to the forum...I believe the occupation of your hubby falls under NOC C and D. Normally, eligible for open work permits are spouses and children of skilled workers under NOC A, O and B. But, I've read two months ago about the egibility for open work permit of spouses and children of lower skilled occupations for the province of BRITISH COLUMBIA only, and glad that your hubby qualifies. I suggest that you read the CIC website for the backgrounder of this program. I think the same process and procedures apply (same as for NOC A, B, O). Just read the entire thread and you'll see everything you need. But for further clarifications, feel free to post and there are a lot of members who are in Canada now who have gone through the process, willing to help you out....Good luck!!!! See news below....

British Columbia Pilot Project for Open Work Permits for Spouses and Common-Law Partners of Temporary Foreign Workers in Lower Skilled Occupations and Working-Age Dependent Children of Temporary Foreign Workers of All Skill Levels

This new pilot project allows spouses, common-law partners and working-age dependent children of most temporary foreign workers (TFWs), including TFWs working in lower skilled occupations (NOC C &D) to receive open work permits that would allow them to work for any employer in British Columbia.

This project will run until February 15, 2013.
