How much time did CES take for your friend's reevaluation? Many of us are facing this problem of our masters not being evaluated correctly by WES..

Unfortunately, they take 3 months approximately. I have done 4 years of BS and 2 years of MS. I have heard from 2 people till now that CES has evaluated their Masters as Masters. I asked WES for a revaluation and after 2 weeks they replied that there is no mistake. We consider the scope of the degree and the ranking of the institution. I have my degrees in Software Engineering and Software project management having excellent scope and my university is the top university for computer science in my country. So I see no reason why. What is your degree?

Hi mahhek,

Thank you for pointing this out here in the open forum..
So, your friend's MS degree was evaluated by CES correctly..

and what was his/her ECA as per WES as well as CES?

Pls can you share it here?
It will help us all to understand this difference of ECA done by WES and others which I am talking about in this thread.
:)

2 of the people I know were evaluated correctly by CES. One did BBA and a 1.5 years MBA and he was evaluated as a masters degree from CES. He didn't go for WES as his university was not even in the list of universities that WES assess (lucky he).
The second one send his documents to both WES and CES. WES evaluated early and his BS in computer science was evaluated as a 3 years BS and with 2 years of MS his total degree according to WES was equal to 4 years of Canadian BS. Same was the case with me. Anyways, his CES assessment came after 3 months and his MS was evaluated correctly as MS unlike WES. So for me I definitely won't recommend WES to anyone for valid reasons. I mean after having 18 years of education if you are still assessed as 16 years, that kind of hurt pretty bad. I asked WES that the only degree I can get after my MS is a PHD. So where does my MS go? No response like expected.

That was really what I was looking for.. :)

Thanks so much mahhek for solving my confusion.

I will definitely go for CES.. though it may take 13 weeks... I want correct evaluation for my Masters degree and I doubt that WES will not correctly evaluate it.

Thanks again for sharing this info here :)

Yup. Good choice. I mean you can lost max 5 age for points but for masters you can lost many. Give it a try.

Thank you buddy. your post gives hope to me.

I am facing same situation bcoz WES is wrongly assessing my MSc as a 4-years graduate degree (after 18 years of study). After my MSc, I was selected for PhD at best institutes. If my MSc is only a 4-yr grad degree as per WES then how come I was selected for PhD?

Can you please tell what other documents/info you also gave to ensure CES assesses your MS as a post-graduate degree. I mean apart from your MS transcripts and degree certificates

I would like to add information before anyone going for ces. Wes is fast i know about that, ces is extremely slow and a poor management. They let you feel that your profile is nowhere if you dont follow up on regular intervals. Better is to call them at least twice in a month so that they process your profile as soon as possible and keep you updated. Because they messed up with my profile and they sent cc details to someone else. And they didnt process my application as they were waiting for my response for confirmation. My timely follow ups and cautious attitude towards eca helped me to pull them back on track. Few other things happened which I believe you all intelligent and smart enough do deal with ces.

Just follow up regularly, not by emails but via calls. As you will receive auto replies most of the time from ces. I hope this helps you out in future. Goodluck

Complete documentation must be provided for each program of post-secondary study you completed (for example, if you have a Masters degree, copies of all degrees/diplomas and transcripts earned prior to this degree are required like your bachelor degree).

It depends on your country too I guess. You can check here http: //learn. Toronto . ca/ international-professionals/ comparative-education-service-ces/ country-list with out spaces . Select your country and see what they require from you.

As for me, I have to send my bachelor degree and transcript and master degree and transcript both sealed by the official board in my country along with colored photocopies of all 4 documents I mentioned. Do not send the original documents. If the documents are not in English, you need to get them translated.

Sorry I forgot to mention you also need to send a filled application form and payment. The form is available on the CES site as well.

Many thanks for your informative replies. +1 to both of you

I am from India. I was selected thru national selection for MSc and I studied directly at the department (on university campus) of a top univ. This means the course curriculum, research facilities, faculty etc were better than the same course offered at other colleges. Also specialization courses in the 2nd yr at University were more superior than those offered by other colleges for MSc

I also compared my MSc course curriculum with exact same MSc course offered by Canadian universities. It matches. If Canadian MSc is a 2-year post grad program then how can WES think my MSc is a 1-yr study towards a graduate program?

Very oddly WES USA assesses my MSc as a Masters but WES Canada assesses my MSc as a 1-yr towards grad. This wrong assessment is making me to lose points for FSW

What's your advice - must I give more info and docs for how I got selection for MSc and how my course curriculum is different from other colleges but same as Canadian MSc?

Hi affan_123,
Thank you for sharing these tips here.
Pls can you share what was your ECA done by CES and how much time it took for you to get ECA report in your hands?

Bba 4 years- assessed as 4 years bba
Mba 1.5 years- assessed as masters

Initially it was 17 weeks, I submitted my application on 17 feb 15 and received the report 4 June 2015. My application got rejected initially, I resubmitted the docs as initially my docs weren't signed and stamped by the controller. I forced ces to evaluate my credentials as soon as possible and i became the frequent caller and they started recognising me lol. So they evaluated my application two weeks prior the date i received my report. They put the wrong information in my specialisation and urged them to change it and they did. They were Extremely cooperative.

Color copies of front page separated in two and back of that page where you required to sign the passport.

Once your eca is done then i believe its nearly impossible that your credentials will be reversed. Mahek is one of us who's application wasn't reversed as masters. Your self analysis and comparison and facilities in india, cic designated organisations are least bothered about all. They will assess according to their own criteria, either you submit documents to justify your msc as 2 years. All they need degree and transcripts thats all, i would recommend you to call wes and ask them why this happened to you. And before making a phone call email your docs which are serving as an evidence for you and then discuss and explain them in detail, i assure you one thing they very much cooperative. Besides, also check with ces may be their assessment become favourable for you?
