did anyone else have the same issue where their name on the pr card is cut off and you still put your full name on the application form? thoughts on this?

The only thing am worried about is the application form is vague on purpose so they can take longer and keep asking for documents. Taking their time being lazy and what not:confused:

Thats why i want to send documents they need.

They mentioned putting your full name because thats how it will show on your citizenship certificate

I am sending out my application today, October 12, 2017, and I am REALLY WORRIED about my calculation. I put Temporary Resident status started October 12, 2012 which is the beginning of my eligibility period, however my study permit was issue in July 2012.... I really hope they understand that I just went with the ELIGIBILITY PERIOD and did not want to confuse things... I attached all copies of all of my permits though...

Where did you fill this information precisely?

I am about to finalize the app, this is for my folks

They came as Visitor in 2012 and got their PR in 2014 -

We filed taxes for 2012, 13, 14, 15, 16 - should I put YES only for the 5 years in Taxes filed?
They are over 54 so do I simply leave the English part blank? put anything at all?

Hey Guys,

Do I need to attach my Tax returns for the past years or not? I assume CIC will reach out to CRA to get all my Tax.

Also should I check Yes or No for Required to File and Taxed File?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Required to file NO" and Taxes FIled "YES"

Required to file NO" and Taxes FIled "YES"

Why is NO Required? In what circumstance is NO

For eg., my folks filed taxes for 2012, 13 ( years they were visitor ) then 204, 15, 16 ( as PR ) but only my dad worked but still filed for both so how does YES NO come in play

Correct. You would note when you obtained status.. so if you were automatically a citizen by birth, then you would note that. Passport is just a travel document and can change over time. Also though, if you became a citizen of another country, then you would include that, as well as your immigration status such as being a student or temp worker (in whatever country).

Thanks for confirming .. ;)

I have this issue as well .. posted it on the other thread, but got no replies ..

thats question on 4(b) ..

"What is your name as shown exactly on your most recent immigration document?"

Help shows 3 options for immigration documents, PR Card, COPR or Record of Landing ..

My middle name is long, so last two letters/characters are cut off on my drivers license, health card, and PR card ..
However, my COPR document has it listed correctly (I guess their system had enough characters to accommodate the name).

Now, the most recent one would be the PR Card, as far as I can tell ..

Should I list my middle name as it is in PR Card (which is not correct) or COPR (which is correct) ?
Also, is there a way I can just not use my middle name ..? I'd rather just use first and last name officially, if possible ..

What is your most recent immigration document?

Check your PR card. For me my first PR card only my middle name was shortened and my most recent rebewed PR car i have my full name on there.

There is a place to write all other names ill insert it there with the reason middle name if any this is just me no known rule oo

Unfortunately I also called immigration and they strongly recommended to sign the form on the 12th. I am not giving misleading/false information. I am trying to help people as I have been doing since I started in this forum. There is no point in rushing citizenship applications as there is no cap to be filled, just make sure you read every detail in the application.

What is this actually based on? If someone has 1095 or more days of residency (as per calculator) on 11th Oct they are golden. What are you saying? Someone with 1095+ days of residency as of oct 10th isn't eligible to apply under the new rules on oct 11th?
