No I am 1/2 an officer at the port of entry after they stamp your passport. Ok when you do your declaration they have 3 letters that they write on it. We read them and that's when I stop you and ask you to examine your luggage and take start questionning you. After I examine you I will be responsible for your case and if you appeal the case they will directly put me as the adjudicator responsible for it until I provide your case on your decision which it will revised by my mananger and approve by him as well.
Sorry guys can't provide any more accurate details than this.
BTW hope I'm not wrong but Rorita you shouldn't worry about an interview.
The other two people RASHA AND BOUJASIM you both definitely going to be invited to an interview.

I see, so later on, if God wish and I get my PR, I will ask you about the stuff I am taking with me, what to declare, how to declare, should I make a list of what I am taking with me.
my husband asked on the border for the procedure for moving some of our furniture from our house in Michigan, to windsor.
why do you think that I will be done without interview?

too many facts.
You lived with your husband in Michigan for more than 6 months. You are female and you have relatives in Canada not only your husband. All that it's taking into account believe me. When you receive your decision let me know.

Sorry to say.. whatever you claim your job to be.. you have NO RIGHT to play on people's fears or emotions and tell them you will get an interview and you won't get an interview?!?! First of all if you really are a CIC officer of some sort you should know that you have a code of ethics and guidelines and you would NEVER write something like this on a public forum.. even IF you are going through a sponsorship yourself! You can write about your own situation but to tell people on this forum that BASED ON YOUR OPINION that they will get interviewed is not JUSTIFIED.. they don't just assume oh they didn't live together long so let's interview them?!?! GIVE ME A BREAK.. Either explain yourself well or keep your mouth shut!!! Rasha was being too polite to you in my opinion! If it was me you would get more then I'm writing now :)

Bonchuk I know my codes of Ethics and Guildlines otherwise I wouldn't be working with CBSA and if you are not familiar with the codes go educate yourself. Also I'm not addressing this situation to you but rather to my friends who happen to ask. Rasha knows what I'm talking about. I'm not playing with anybody emotions and if you carefully search this forum a lot of people said the same thing and it's true what they wrote most men will have an interview especially when they are from middle east. I'm sponsoring my husband and he is going to have an interview like it or not. If it was the other way around it wouldn't such a big deal for the immigration. They set rules and it's not the first time you read about it so my advise to you before you jumping and be so judgmental about what I wrote search in this forum and you will get the same answer.
An interview is not to reject you but rather they need more specific answers on what you have wrote on a piece of paper.

Boujasim, an appeal is based on someone who is carrying more than $10,000 in canadian and at the point of entry let's say if you are carrying more than $10,000 and you don't declare it they will ask you the question twice and if they suspect something and they decide to do some inspection and found more than what you had declare they will need some evidence 1st why you didn't declare it and secondly where you earn that money. Also there is 4 levels of penalties level 1, 2, 3, 4 which I won't say what the amount involved in each. You can read through them and if they convicted in level 4 the amount is forfeited immediately that's when most of the people appeal level 4 because of the amount is so high and that's where we as adjudicators handles all the appeals and draw a decision if they are guilty or not but than they can go to Federal Appeal you can also go and read about it as well

Marlena Ya Habtiti!

1. How can you possibly say you know the Code of Ethics, how can that be when you say this: I can give you thousands of letter from Canada immigration to read them and how us as adjudicators we analyze them. I go through it every single day. Perhaps I should copy and paste one example and show you how we came with our decision. I don't know perhaps it will help you me and the rest of the people in the forum.
I don't want to show it to everyone because I could be in trouble but I will definitely scan one example and send it to your Hotmail account perhaps you will have a better idea on what I'm talking about.

The mere divulging of such private and personal information is a huge infringment on privacy and no doubt human rights violations!!!! I am SURE the powers that be, would have YOUR job for even just suggesting such a thing! And I find it very haneous!

2. Why the hell would you generalize and for all intensive purposes suggest racial profiling is means by which Immigration conducts its due diligence!??? Moreover I know MANY couples who have passed their applications, and the wife was the sponsoring applicant, and guess what...they didn't have an interview!

3. The reality to you having an interview is probably more due to the fact that you ARE an I/O or working in CBSA, know loopholes, and are therefore subject to MORE SCRUTINY than the average Loe!

4. An Interview slows down application processing time, is a huge waste and drain of resources, and more probably only happens when not ENOUGH has been given or shown to substantiate a true relationship. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize the impact interviews have...nor the lag time they create. And again, I do think a lot of interviews and rejections for that matter stem from more from a LACK OF SUBSTANTIAL EVIDENCE than any other reason.

Yes September 11th has heightened security everywhere - but it would be a huge human right's violation, and there would be a ton of people lining up tomorrow if what you said is true about people having interviews due to their spouse strictly being from the middle east - and without any other grounds... and it would be completely against what Canada (remember, the country we are living in) represents.

I am not mad at your comments, but appalled and quite frankly disgusted. As an I/O, and more to the point, as a Government Employee, there is a higher standard and Code of Ethics that one should follow. You are representing the government, and you took a certain security clearance, and many people put their private lives in your hands. When you outted yourself, you subjected yourself to greater scrutiny. Such comments could cause far greater repercussions if not complaints and maybe even stall the whole Immigration system, if people are willed enough! Never mind your job!! You should really take caution in what you say, and how you present yourself.

People give lots of evidence but still go through interview. So explain to me why how come some applicant when they provide all the necessary documents they still have to be questioned when they provided more than what they asked for.
Also when I said i give an example it's a basic example that was provided to the public to read and get familiar with so I guess you are not familiar with it. You can search through Federal appeals at CBSA which and you find thousands of examples open to the public involved with all names so I'm not divulging of such private and personal information when it's on the internet.
As Boujasim, himself clearly stated no one can look inside the mind of an I/O and everyone has their own opinions - which honestly is something I question - how objective can ANY I/O truly be??? And no I am not familiar with reading any such public letters - and your OWN ADMITTANCE that showing such information could get you in trouble just further proves that you know its inappropriate in the first place - otherwise why would you even say such a thing? AND had this 'information' been 'PUBLIC' knowledge to begin with, you would not be divulging some 'special private' information, but common knowledge to begin with...further to the point, I highly doubt such CBSA appeals are as 'commonly and readily available' as you so prove - even with the Freedom of Information Act, unless they hit a certain federal circuit, and even then it would be difficult at best to see many...

You can try to blow smoke over some of these people eyes - but I bet you are probably nothing more than a government clerk who happens to work at a border crossing. NO offense, but your English diction leaves a lot to be desired. AND I have taken several Gov't Exams, and know the language requirements for a true CBSA Guard post... One minute you say inspect visa stamps etc...and the next you say your are an ajudicator...which is it? Coz one in that post would not do both.

Most importantly, if you are such an all-knowing 'IO' - then why are you here seeking advice etc.. for a subject which you should know everything about?

People can read each person's post and judge for themselves who is educated and who is not :)

And since you chose to bring my private PM's into this (yet another haneous act)...further substantiating how WELL we can trust our Government Officials (and YOU) with private information. I really have a lot of faith in the immigration process - NOT!!!! Do they all conduct themselves in the same manner as you!???? Are you truly morally and ethically adept to be an 'I/O'?????

And for the record of those reading, I simply asked Marlena privately since she supposedly worked as an I/O, should I have future questions, could I speak with her in private.

I never asked you anything directly regarding any immigration issues Marlena, and I stated that in my PM to you. I don't have your personal e-mail and I NEVER contacted you via hotmail, but strictly on this board through PM, and for the record, I NEVER asked for your e-mail address. ANd how does one PM count as many!???? You can't even be honest in your account of what actually transpired. Or is that your lebanese trait of over-exaggerating showing?

And again, I am not scared of ANY Interview, as I said before, BRING IT ON. I am not afraid of my life, and my husband and I are more than happy to talk to anyone who asks about it lol.

I find your generalisations and general lack of couth disgusting - as you supposedly represent the Canadian Government. What ever happened to a higher code of conduct??

And why don't you get lost first....as all you do is blow smoke up people's arses and cause chaos and confusion for those who can't see through it. I HIGHLY doubt any I/O would come on here and actually claim to be such as you have, and say the things you have....

Moreover, you have yet to truly address any of the points I actually raised a few posts up.

N.B. Marlena chose to delete her post, that I replied to here.
