It totally amazes me how anyone can lie for that length of time and that convincingly. Holy heck I can't even hide a new pair of shoes in the closet without feeling guilt ridden and then bringing them out half an hour later telling him the full price
!!!!!
Joking aside, whilst the system for those want to abuse it, seems relatively easy to do so, it is there and in place for the genuine relationship breakdowns.
What if a Canadian marries someone, and within 3 days of him or her getting here, the sponsored spouse starts getting beaten / abused / blackmailed??? What then - are they not allowed to leave or seek help because they will presume they'll be accused of marriage fraud and deported. The welfare system is to help genuine people like this who are legitimate victims.
And whilst I agree that if these people are being mistreated by their Canadian sponsor then maybe the "welfare" system should be paying for their flights back to their home countries, as after all they do have the one thing in common with the scammers whch is the reason for coming to Canada is now no longer the reason.
