So I am from Bangladesh but I asked a friend of mine from London to buy the ticket for me as he has Airmiles plan. He got the ticket at less than half the price I would have paid in travel agency. He got me First and Business class cabins with a very cheap price. However I will be traveling via two airways first by Thai airways (Dhaka-Bangkok-Tokyo) and then Air Canada (Tokyo- Calgary)

Now my question is

1. Is it going to be a problem as I am travelling via two different Airways. In the past I have only travelled in single airways (including connecting flights)

2. He sent me the ticket via email as the ticket was originally mailed to him since he bought the ticket for me (He took all my details like full name, passport no, date of birth, passport expiry date etc.)And also my name is written on the ticket. Can I just print off the email and would it serve as my ticket? Will they give me boarding passes of the both the airways while checking in?

no problem. but for other airline you have to take the luggage and give it in another one manually. I had to do it for my connecting flight in air canada.

if your luggage has no wheel or you cant take it yourself manually then take some money in that airport currency for hiring a porter.

Ok, so you are on one ticket on various airlines. Your first operating airline is the one who decides how much luggage you are allowed to bring. Keyword is "operating".

You will most likely receive boarding passes all the way through. You're in first/biz - nice! :) I hope you will give your friend a nice gift. Accumulating the miles for that costs a fair bit. (my 60.000+ miles have cost me a total of $4000 in flights to accumulate.)

As long as you are on the same ticket don't worry if you're flying different airlines. They codeshare all the time within their alliances.

Enjoy the travel in comfort. I was happy to be flying economy comfort.
