Flagpoled at Point Roberts confusion: Have you remained beyond validity of status?

I recently went to Point Roberts border to flagpole for my PGWP. The border was very busy, and they asked me to take an appointment as there were close to 50 files already pending with them. Therefore, they gave me a paper which said "Entry for Further Examination or Admissibility Hearing" under Section 23 of the Immigration and Refugees Protection act I was authorized to enter Canada with Further Examination was tick marked. The paper said that I need to report back after 2 days at a specific time, and it also said that during these 2 days I cannot work in Canada or study in Canada. I went to the border back after 2 days, and was able to successfully get my PGWP. Otherwise, my TRV and study Permit were valid for 3 more months.

So, I was able to get my PGWP successfully, but I am worried that this 2-day gap might cause problems? Now, if in future if I apply for PR, how do I answer the question: Have you remained in Canada beyond valid the validity of your status, worked or attended school without an authorization? (I didn't work or study during this time, but was I considered out of status during that 2 day period, and do I have to check mark Yes?)

Did they specifically tell you you were out of status for those 2 days, or was it just your own interpretation because you couldn't work or study? Visitor is a valid status after all.

IMO, as long as your entry was authorized by the CBSA, it should cause no issues even if you mark "no".

But even if you mark "yes" and give the full explanation, it really wouldn't cause any issues either.

They didn't say "out of status" but they made me sign that I am not authorized to work, I am not authorized to study, I have to appear at the said time without fail else they will put a removal order.

It's self-explanatory. They were a lot of files in front of them so they didn't want to deal with you so they gave you temporary 2 day entry under Section 23 and told you to report back to get your PGWP documents checked. It's a valid status. You weren't without status. Unnecessary on their part though 'cause your TRV was valid for another 3 months as you say.

You can order GCMS notes from CBSA to check if you want. There's nothing to worry about.

Were the other files for flagpoling as well?

Yes there were other files for flagpoling too. Definitely relieves my worries. Do you know if GCMS notes from CBSA would show status as well if I ask for the Entry/Exit Report? Is there something specific I should mention while requesting GCMS notes?

Ask for GCMS for your UCI # + Complete Travel History Report alongwith any and all records on your passport # & name in the Entry/Exit Information System.
