Hello Fellow Canadians,

In 3 days from now i will do my very first trip on Canadian passport. I will be flying to the US for 5 days.
And next week, I’ll be flying to Israel for 10 days. I’m very excited about it.

However, I have a question regarding the address and emergency contact information on the page 4 of the Canadian passport. I so far haven’t written this information. I’m reluctant to fill out my current address in the passport knowing that I’ll very likely move within the next 12 months, which therefore requires me to update my address in the passport again.

Is the information about address and emergency contact mandatory in the passport?

Can foreign immigration and custom authorities bother me for not mentioning those details ?

I read many harsh stories about Israeli custom and immigration security vetting. Does anyone have an experience? Kindly share...

Thank you very much in advance for your answers.

It is entirely optional to fill out that information. If you choose to do so, fill it out in pencil so that you can update it after your move.

That is what I do. I always use a pencil.
