Hi all,

My medical form has two dates: a date of issue and a date of expiry.

This question is important because my passport is in Ottawa for Stamping and may not get back to me until the end of the month (given current processing times).

I read on this forum that the deadline is based on the medical (my passport does not expire for a while).
I was informed 1 year from medical issue is when you need to enter the country. Would it not make more sense for this to be on the date of expiry?

12 months from date of issue is in ~7 days
Date of expiry is a few months out

Thanks for the input.

Date of expiry of medicals is always from the date you have taken tests.

Wait for CoPR to see date, they should provide an extended date if expiring in a week.

Keep logging in to your cic account. It will show the expiry date of the copr. The info there will chabge once passport is stamped while ypu wait for the return.
There's also a possibility your meds were extended. My meds were supposed to expire in april but copr showed we have until jan 2019.

Thanks but in my case I have a printed expiry date that is later than the issue date (by ~4 months)

My passport was delivered just a couple of days back and the end expiry is 7 days away. I think if there is no update to online portal in 4 days I’ll email CPC Ottawa.

There's a chance they'll ask you to redo the medical exams.
