Someone was saying the job bank will open today and we will finally be able to update our profiles there.
But I logged in to mine and found no new developments.

Logically, unless our job bank profiles are updated, how will they judge our profiles?

I think before the draw there will definitely be a pre-requisite to complete our job profiles.

CIC wont select candidates based on job roles, but employers can.

I do not think that January draws shall be based on employer nomination.

I've read somewhere that it takes a couple of months to work functionally,I just conveyed it.

Somebody on the forum said the Job Bank is not scheduled to open for a couple of months yet...
They will announce it loud and clear when they do so.

Thats a million $ question now , the announcement (not yet done) will have the details including the criteria like which category the draw covers, if nothing mentioned it will be from all categories (PN, FSW etc) combined , for now its all guesses or speculations.

I wish every one all the very best and tons of optimism !

You might be right about the january draws. But I thought the whole point of changing the immigration system to EE was to attract
skilled talent based on employers demands and hence the lack of an occupation list.
A blind draw may make sense in January probably because most of those picked will probably already have a job offer.

I suppose we can only speculate what CIC is upto.

If they want this to respond to labor needs (rather than a static list), then the way to do it would be to increase the number of LMIAs significantly, so that the points threshold is higher. Let a few people in without job offers, and highly prioritize those who have them.

If they make the LMIAs impossible to get, then the system ends up being even worse than it was before with the occupation list. To meet their targets, they have to drop the scores. With low scores and no NOC list, they will be even more random and disconnected from the needs of the labour market.

Absolutely right Kate.
I think they may do that after the initial draws, i.e. expose our profiles to prospective employers. We will be at the mercy of their job market soon, and only get an ITA after we have job offers.

Yes Eric. ECA is compulsory if your last degree is not from Canada. You will have to approach your university to send your transcripts in a sealed envelope to an authorized Canadian Assessment agency.

Check this site for more details.

I'm fortunate in that I have an employer working on that now with me.

I can understand that the government doesn't want to bring people in who don't have a job. They don't want to take jobs away from Canadians who are already here. Making things too difficult, though, doesn't help things - ultimately, if Canadian employers can't get the employees they need, it's the Canadian economy that will suffer for it.
