Hi..
I am curious about one thing. I think someone told me that AFTER YOU take the oath of citizenship, you can only request the canadian passport 48 hours after the ceremony?

Is this true? Can someone who applied tell me please?

Also it seems that now we need 2 guarantors for the first canadian passport? confirm please

thanks

Not true. If you look at the application form it states that you need one guarantor and two references.

ok thanks guys

Does toronto have an urgent processing office to get the passport in 2 business days ?

thanks

When I take the oath, can I fly and apply for my first Canadian pasport in the Canadian consulate? How soon can I receive the passport if I am in Canada?

if you are in Canada there would not be a Canadian consulate as those are generally outside Canada so not clear what you mean fly and apply .

you need to research the passport application process which is pretty detailed here as already posted above

I mean I fly after oath overseas and apply for the passport say from the Consulate of Canada in the USA or whihever country I will be in... Apologies if I was not clear earlier

If I fly after oath overseas and apply for the passport say from the Consulate of Canada in the USA or whichever country I will be in. is it possible? Please help!

Passport issuance OUTSIDE Canada takes long time and its sometimes difficult to find Canadian guarantor and references there.

Best to apply in person at passport office in Canada, get the passport and then leave the country.

All info is on website, please read it carefully and then do whatever you want. It is your decision to make.
