I am not sure what would be the best way to answer this question my mother in'law who is coming to visit us in canada. She has her own business and does make enough money for herself. But I said in the letter of invitation that I will be paying for the cost of her visit here. I would not want her to be refused because she doesn't not earn enough money

So what exactly is your question?

In our application, my boyfriend had enough money to support himself while in Canada, but I also stated in my letter that I would help him if he needed it... Make a budget that shows the expenses that your mother in law will have while in Canada and how she will be able to provide for herself.. If she can't, you'll have to show that you can pay for everything..

Ask a more specific question, and I'll give you a more specific answer :p

Thanks that works.. Just submitt her info plus mine and should be more than covered

How about if my wife shows the money? she is going to apply for her mom. She got the money but does not work but I do. Also what requirement needs to show our behalf and her mom side as well. Any advise about invitation format letter.which that would help us.thanks...

I am having this same issue. I want to invite my mother in law over but I don't know how to go about establishing home ties for her since she has a slow moving business. I have an okay job in Canada though.

Here are some things you can submit to address the home ties issue:

- Property ownership (house, land, farm etc..)
- Lease agreement for an apartment or house
- Employment (provide letter from employer)
- Any investments, bonds, retirement funds, things like that
- Family
- Future appointments or meetings
- Any sort of committee or team membership
- School schedule and proof of studies

Hope this helps! ;)
