FINGERPRINTS after TEST/RQ PLEASE share your knowledge

Dear all, Please share your experience/knowledge
I got a letter from CIC to do fingerprints...I am the primary applicant and we were told that our file is in queue waiting for interview with a citizenship judge after we did our test last October followed by RQ..my question: Will my wife also asked for fingerprints? Does this step entail any positive progress in our file? And how long does it take them after receiving my fingerprints to move to the next step?

My case timeline:
We have a family application since August 2011
RQ for wife 2012
Mandamus August 2014
Test Oct. 2014
RQ for husband Oct. 2014 Submitted Nov. 2014
Transferred to Judge December 2014
Fingerprints request July 2015

Why did you get the RQ ? Have they gave you an answer why did you receive it ? Are you short on days ?

We never got any explanation why we got RQs

I assume that CIC does not have a problem with your wife but only with you (the husband). Have you consider splitting files so at least your wife gets citizenship? Female applicants who got RQ get a relatively fast processing so probably your issues are delaying your wife from getting citizenship. That is just and educated guess though....

Do you know if the files can be splitted? Can it be done any time during the processing OR after a certain period? any links to the information.

Yeah, we tried before but our request was rejected. Anyway, I am still waiting for an answer to my question...anyone, with family application, got FP for primary applicant only? Any similar experiences please
