Dear members,

Where should i visit to get my finger prints done for my FBI clearance in US.
Do we have any specific centers in US, which would help to get prints done on forms.

Thanks

Hi Jamee,

I just got mine done on Friday, all I did was google finger prints and it filled the rest, you need to see Channellers that are supported by the FBI site where you can go and get your finger prints done.

I got confused about getting live scans done, a friend of mine suggested me to take live scens or ink prints, (Ink prints cost $15 a page), usually the channeled will have those sheets since they are hard and not just regular A4 sheets, take two sets of prints, I heard stories where the FBI does not agree with just one set of prints.

-Take a print out of the application form
-Get your FD 258 Form filled (Ink Prints sheet) &
- Fill out a Money Order/ Credit Card Auth form

All the above are found in the FBI Website

I added links, but the site didn't allow me to post this post with links.

Hope it helps. Good luck!

Hello Dan,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. This is very helpful.

Since, I am not citizen or resident of USA, looks i cannot go through Channellers (website says so).

Although, I can visit county police which has firger print service. But they are asking to get my own fingerprint card (FD258).
Where can I buy this card. Can't I take A4 print of FD 258 form and get prints done at police service.
Please advise.

Ok thank you so much.

With FD-258 form, I have few questions, can you please help me with this:

1. Residence of person FingerPrinted - She is currently in USA on H1-B, can she provide residence address of US or should she provide home country residence address?
2. EMPLOYER and ADDRESS - This FBI PC is for my fiancee and I am sponsoring her. Does she needs to mention her Employer Name.

US Address only.

Not necessary for Employer, Address which means Residence address, YES include ADDRESS.

Adding to that, you can go through Channelers Jamee, it does not matter if you are a Citizen or not, Channelers are authorised technicians chosen by the FBI, another service vendor who does the finger printing, so you can use them.

Good Luck!

To be specific of what dan28analyst says you can get the fingerprinting done by a channeler but have to send the documents directly to FBI for processing.

It certainly does matter. CIC only accepts Channeler letters from U.S. citizens or Green Card holders.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/united-states.asp

Please note that FBI-approved channeler service is only available to U.S. citizens and permanent residents.

Hi Ponga and Jai,

Ponga, what letters you mean exactly from Citizens and Green Card holders, I'm not aware of this though.

You stated that a non-citizen or Green Card holder in the U.S. could use a Channeler. The `letter' would be the letter from the Channeler that replaces the original FBI IHSR letter.

I think you did not get what I mentioned. I suggested to take the help of channeler to get fingerprints done. All the documents then have to be sent by applicant directly to FBI for processing and not through channeler.
