Finding jobs post ITA.

Hi all,

I got my ITA a few weeks back. My CRS score is 463 without a job offer. Now, I understand having a job offer boosts your score by 50 points or so. And in order for an employer to offer a job, they must meet the LMIA criteria.

Now, when I start looking for jobs should I look for employers that meet the LMIA criteria or am I eligible to get offers from any Canadian employer? And would the situation change once I receive my Visa/PR?

Thanks!

You have your ita, you don't need any more points now. Now you just submit your application.

Thanks Kryt0n. I don't think you got my question.

Even after I get my PR, I still have to have a job in order to sustain. Now, I'm in the advertising industry and typically advertising agencies aren't LMIA certified. And since I'm trying to assess my prospects, I'd like to know if my prospective employers need to meet the LMIA criteria once I receive my PR.

In other words, would having a PR make getting a job easier?

Thanks and cheers!

You don't need LMIA for any job after you receive your PR and move to Canada.
As permanent resident, you have all rights and options as Canadian citizens have, except participating in elections and being employed in some security jobs (police, etc)

Sorry, but if you ask questions like these, did you really know what you were doing when applying for PR?

Clearly I didn't know enough :) Also, I initiated the process through an agent more than a year back, and gave up hope since I never got an ITA. Only now after getting an ITA I've started doing things on my own, hence the inadequacy in knowledge.

I understand about the process, but I suppose you should know why are you applying for PR and what status you receive after. It's a great change in your life.
Here's official info about the status
