Hello all,

My wife and i, we want to apply for Permanent Residents of Canada (Ontario, Toronto) as Skilled Workers.
My wife graduated from Sunderland University in UK and has Master in Marketing.
I have diploma in Logistics (Warehouse Management).
My wife will be the principal applicant and we are not sure about what is the right code to apply for (we don't find it).
My wife is working 6 years as Brand Manager in a retail company and
i work as logistics implementation consultant in informatics company.

Could you please help about the right choice we have to apply for?

Thank you in advance!

George and Georgia

If you wish to apply through the Federal Skilled worker program and the principal applicant does not already have a job offer in Canada, then the principal applicant's occupation must appear on the following list in order to qualify to apply:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp

Unfortunately I don't believe your wife qualifies at this time.

Thank you for your reply.
Do we have other option?
My wife's aunt lives in Toronto and she is Canadian citizen

Unfortunately your aunt can't sponsor you.

Your best bet is for one of you to secure a job offer in Canada. That will certainly open up your immigration options.

Hi again,

in this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-employment.asp

Can you please clarify if the job offer is valid only if you are accepted as a federal skilled worker?
Do i have to be accepted as a federal skilled first in order of the job offer to be valid?

Can you please clarify the meaning of the above?
I am confused...

In this case, the offer of employment is valid if your prospective employer

has made an offer to hire you on an indeterminate basis if you are accepted as a federal skilled worker,

Hi guys and sorry for these questions,
i would like to understand the meaning of the above, it is copy paste from the site
I don't understand " if you are accepted as a federal skilled worker"
Can someone be accepted without have one of the 29 jobs in the list of the site?
Does it mean that i can be accepted as "federal skilled worker" only with education, previous job career and job arrangement?

In this case, the offer of employment is valid if your prospective employer

has made an offer to hire you on an indeterminate basis if you are accepted as a federal skilled worker,

You'll have to learn to be patient when waiting for answers. Everyone here is a volunteer and none of us are on 24/7. Sometimes it can take several hours or even a few days to get a question answered. If you're in need of more immediate answers, I'd strongly recommend you hire an immigration lawyer or consultant.

To try to answer your question:
- if your occupation is not on the list of 29 (list on the link I provided), then you need a job offer in Canada to qualify to apply for the federal skilled worker program
- this job offer is referred to as an AEO (arranged employment offer)
- with the AEO, the employer is agreeing to hire you in the event you are approved as a PR through the federal skilled worker program
- detailed info on AEOs is available here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-employment.asp

Something else you could consider doing is seeing if one of you qualifies under NOC 1122 (you'll have to look at the job description on the HRSDC web site to see if it's a match). NOC 1122 is on the list of 29 but has reached its cap. The cap will reset July and CIC will once again accept applications. Two caveats about this statement: (1) I am assuming this NOC will still be there when the cap resets July 1st. Sometimes CIC revises the list and there's no way of guaranteeing what will be there for the next yearly cycle. (2) NOC 1122 hit its cap (i.e. received 500 applications) in 5 days last year. It will fill up even faster this year. If you qualify to apply, your complete application will have to be submitted at arrive at the office within a day or two after July 1st to have any hope of making the cap.

If you do find one of you qualifies under NOC 1122, start putting together the application now. It's going to take you a while. The principal applicant will need to take an English test (IELTS) and this alone could take a couple of months to sort out (and no - it doesn't make a difference that you are from the UK - taking the test is mandatory for all applicants).

Could you please help me about a question i have regarding the job arrangement?

My dear friend, if you spend a moment of your time on the CIC website, all these questions would be clear to you. If you are applying for AEO-FSW2, then the occupation must fall within the list of 29 listed by CIC, even though is not affected by the cap. If you are going for work permit, then it could be any occupation provided HRSDC gives you a positive labour market opinion- LMO.
Go to the CIC website for a wealth of info.
