hi everybody,

happy new year everyone :)

i have a question about financial situation for tourist visa..

on the visa website it says :

# proof of your financial situation, or that of the person who supports you, in the form of:

* a recent monthly bank statement showing the balance and;
* proof of employment (last three pay slips) or ;
* proof of income from other sources (pension, business registry, scholarship, unemployment insurance or other);

# proof of sufficient funds available for your trip to Canada or;
# an invitation and undertaking of expenses from friends or family in Canada

since im not working right now, but my wife get a pension every month, can i use that as source ?! if so how ?! :)

will be great to help me figure this out guys :)

thanks again

The bank statement should be in your name. Or if you are invited by a friend in Canada, have that friend make an undertaking for you- provide you room and board, medicals if needed and fare back home when you need it.

thank for ur answer
but howa can the bank statement be in my name if im not the one whos getting the pension :D

Well you can open an account in your name and have your wife make the deposits :)

thx again
like the 3 last months ?!
and how much should it be in canadian dollar

At least have the account at least 6 months before you file your application. It is not just financial considerations that the visa officers look at. You should have enough "ties" with the country (yours or elsewhere) you're originating from.

depending on the time you plan to stay in Canada.

they will not ask for big money for a month, but you will definitely need to prove your ties to your country. I had more than enough money on my account for a few weeks visa and was still denied because of lack of ties, as they said.
