Financial requirement

Hi. Our financial requirement at the original time of submission of sponsorship & prior (2010 & 2009) are way above LICO, and to date as well. However, 2012 November my first & only child was born. Then we received letter from cic regarding the docs required from my parents & dependent being sponsored on June 2014. Although cic asked for original year (2010&2009), I just informed them of the change in circumstance (birth of child) upon receiving their letter which clearly stated I need to contact them incase of change in circumstances among other things. I totally forgot to inform them about it immediately after birth but now I did. My question is will there be a need to reevaluate our financial ability? We have stable jobs & still way above lico even up to 10 family members, but my worry is if they now ask for the prior year which is my maternity leave year 2013, then we may not qualify since I didn't earn much coz I was under EI.

Also, is there a consequence for not advising them immediately (almost 2 years past) of the birth of my son?

You write back to them explaining pretty much what you just wrote here. What else is there for you to do?

I would definitely attach an explanation letter in case they ask for latest Option C print out. I was just hoping someone who had similar experience or knows of one who has similar experience be able to enlighten & a bit alleviate my concern. I appreciate your finding time to respond Nelsonhk.
